Your question isn't specific enough. The upper handle grip has a bolt through the upper cord wrap that can be tightened. The lower handle has 2 bolts, but they rarely get loose. If you're concerned with the way the handle wobbles side to side at the base, that's normal. If you want a better diagnosis, take it to your local vac shop to have it looked at.

study how the bag attaches to the machine. usually you turn that bag collar a quarter turn counterclockwise to get that collar off. get ready because dirt will get all over.. then hook the larger end of the hose to where you just took that off. one of those smaller attachments that came with it goes on the other end of the hose to attach it to the mattress or use a small funnel or a straw and duct tape..

There is a switch that prevents the motor from running unless the shampoo tank, (or bag assembly) is fully installed. Be sure the tank is tight against the side of the machine, and not blocked by the cord, The shampoo head must also be fully attached.

you can cut and paste that if you like. there is an instructional video you can watch that will explain your unit without a problem. At least this might help you a little. Sometimes explaining a kirby is hard to do without one in front of me.

The best thing to do with this type of issue is to watch the video tape that came with the machine as it gives you visual step by step instructions. If you do not have the tape look in the manual it is shown in diagrams in the manual. If you don't have a manual please go to "kirby vacuum sales and service.com. They will be able to send you a tape or DVD and a manual. Thanks.
