Sorry you're having problems. Offhand the 8 blink code on a Pioneer Plasma translates to an internal communication failure in the TV and generally requires repairs. Take the back off the set and use a can of air to blow out the various heat sinks on the boards along with the fans, it should run much cooler after that and get rid of the code.

Try another TV, if that works the issue is with the main board in your Pioneer TV, may be hard to find at a decent price.
