Cassette tap in my vcr get eating
The unit has a bad transport mechanism--it among other things moves the tape in play etc and when ejected winds the tape back into the cassette.Could be bad belt/s or a bad idler made of rubber that does this type of function. If a old unit may be better to replace if you can find one new.

I cannot record from tv ? how do you get the
This model does not have a tuner so you will not be able to record off of tv unless you run your cable box or dish satellite's audio and video outputs through the dvd recorder's front or back inputs(L1 or L2) and record from those sources. Even then the cable box or satellite box would have to be tuned to the channel that you want to record. If you choose to do this you must go to your on screen menu and under setup/general settings/video/video input you will need to select the video input source(L1,rear or L2, front).

Hello
Ofcourse you need an external tuner to receive any RF signals. Your Magnavox is not equipped with internal tuner with it. OK.

Hi welcome to fixyado you mean the dvd player won't turn on ?.if no power at all you will need to unscrew to open the cover.now if you want a DIY... you must have the necessary tools like phillip screw driver and digital tester. then you must check first the fuse at the power supply unit if blown. the power supply, this is where the power cord connected if the fuse is totally burned before you replaced the fuse you will need to check shorted diode and transistor which cause of the fuse to blown. and then just replaced the fuse with then same rating capacity that is label in the board. thanks hope this can be helped, feel free to ask further solution just let me know if this is what you asking for, i'm glad to help you to diagnosed and fix the problem.

I cannot record digital when I try to set up my
This is normal for the ZV457MG9 units. The Magnavox ZV457MG9 does not have an analog (NTSC) tuner; additionally there is no digital (ATSC or QAM) tuner either. It will only record on line in (L1) which is a composite input (limited to SD). The HDMI port on the recorder is an HDMI out to TV, not an input. The component video jacks are also only outputs.
The manual for the Magnavox ZV457MG9/F7 is available here:
http://download.m4c.magnavox.com/files/z/zv427mg9_f7/zv427mg9_f7_dfu_aen.pdf . The unit was manufactured for Magnavox by Funai; thus another link to the manual is
http://www.funai-corp.com/6pdf/om/ZV427MG9.pdf .
I wish that I had better news for you.

(If your DVD/VCR recorder had a tuner, it would record off a coaxial (antenna) cable input. Many DVRs can record off the HD connection (HDMI or component); that may be a better option for replacing this Magnavox unit.)

I have hooked up my ZV427MG9 Magnavox DVD recorder
There is more than one place on this unit where you can connect it to your television to get both picture and sound. Try connecting it in one place for the video and another for the audio. I'll try to be as descriptive as possible. I don't know if you're using a component cable or a composite RCA cable but that's ok because either way you have to be using the red and white audio cable between your tv and this unit. So leave the video cables either green, blue, red or yellow whichever one you've got connected right now the way it is because you have video. Please move the red and white audio cable to the part of the unit where it says audio out just to the right of the coaxial digital audio out when facing the back of the unit. Make sure you are connecting the other end of the red and white audio cable to your television's audio input. Make sure you aren't connecting it to your television's audio output if your television has one. If you still don't get sound the other place on this unit you can connect the red and white audio cable is all the way on the right where is says IN-AUDIO-OUT but only on the extreme right on the -OUT side with white on top of red. That may or may not be an output on the front of the unit as well to the right of S Video. Without it being labeled I am not 100% certain but you can also try that for troubleshooting purposes if all else fails.
If this just absolutely doesn't work you can always purchase a sound bar and listen to the sound from this unit through it. The speaker went out on our television so I'm using a sound bar to connect with the converter box and dvd player.
