Question canon DR-2010C scanner which gives error after some times.my system is vista.the error is "The device could not be locked. Check to see if more than 1 biometric scanner is enabled @ device manager>Disabled all leaving only 1 supported finger print scanner enabled.This error is most common if you have on-board or integrated biometric Reader...Try this 1st;still got answers if this doesn't work but it's been proved as remedy for this particular error :) ThanksThe Rule is:Help others without charge :)

Does the computer detect the fingerprint reader at all? If it shows up in 'device manager' with a yellow exclamation mark then you have a driver issue. In this case try reinstalling your fingerprint reader driver software. If your device is not being detected at all, try reinstalling your usb drivers from within 'device manager' then plugging your fingerprint reader in once again. If this doesn't solve your problem, you will need to have the reader tested as it is most likely faulty.

1. This kind of problem happens when you re-formatted your computer
2. You just install your scanner this year

3. You did not have biometric license installed on your computer, this license makes your scanner authenticated over the internet when you are visiting jamb website, if you are in Nigeria. It also comes with Jamb Biometrics Capture Software, .Net Framework, Java Framework and other software that will make your experience very simple after installing.
4. If, you have the license, then you did not supply the 16 digit security code for the scanner.

The way you out, you need BIOMETRIC LICENSE, if you are operating JAMB BUSINESS.

You can't thumbprint without scanner but you can be able to thumbprint without problem, if you have the right tool like:
- installing the right driiver of your scanner
- by providing the 16 xter security key
- by having biometric license

All will be history when you have the tool in place.
