Unfortunately, if the strip is peeled, the card likely has been destroyed. If you caused that to happen, you are likely out of luck. However, If it is new card, I suggest that you contact the vendor who sold it to you and see if they will replace it. Since it is an Olympus Card you might also want to contact Olympus customer support to see what they may suggest. Is it possible that the card may have gotten wet or has been stored in a high-temperature environment? If so, that likely would be looked at as negligence and any warranty would not apply.

Once the card is plugged into the card reader, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

XD cards are now obsolete memory cards. The cards were developed by Olympus and Fujifilm and released during the summer of 2002. There is now an adapter that allows an SD card to be used in place of the XD card You need to remember that the capacity should not exceed 2 GB or the camera will not be able to accept it. As far as I know cameras accepting XD cards were last produced in 2007, I don't know what specific models however the camera specifications would show what type card it uses.
My Olympus E-10 is not turning on
There is an internal battery or super capacitor that is supposed to hold the settings in the camera for about 24 hours. It could be dead but it should recharge in a couple of days if you leave the big batteries installed. If it wont turn on after that, you will have to send it in for service.
