Jules, it may simply be the case of the Humidity extraction level is set to high. Lower it to 32-35% or in the case of your mechanical control, turn it to Maximum and that should make a significant difference. Be sure that you maintain at least 12" of clear air space around the entire unit.

To access the cooling coils, remove the bucket and the filter and you should be able to see them.

i don't know. on my generic unit, mine won't start untill i reseat my bucket.

Never heard of a metric garden hose connection. Was this unit purchased in the US or overseas? Check box or bag with manual. There may be an adapter in there.
