How to assambly
Go To this link and download the instructions: This model number is different but implies that it is similar to yours. Good luck. http://www.manualslib.com/manual/326927/Tasco-Spacestation-49060700.html#manual
Cannot see anything at all
Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the focuser. DO NOT USE the 2x barlow if you have one.
The focuser is the UP END of the tube-- the mirror is on the bottom-- make sure you do not have it mount backwards!
Practice focusing with this eyepiece on a distant object during the day time.

I have gone over and over the manual instructions
1. Make sure the center of the TUBE is over the center of the tripod. With that scope and shaky tripod-- it is better NOT to fully extend the tripod legs. Part of the problem is the very light tripod being sold with this scope.
I would encourage you to find a local Astronomy club and attend their meetings and star parties. Then you will be able to see the scopes that they use and be better informed when you buy your next telescope.

The focus knobs wouldn't retract the eyepiece
Focusers can be replaced and or upgraded-- you disassembled the focuser-- you will need to reassemble it properly -- you might have also messed up the screw threads in the holes and may need to try using a slightly larger size screws. Your local hardware store will have them.

Most red dot finders take a small watch style battery available at Wal Mart and almost any watch retail store.
I accidentally took apart the
Sorry-- there are several different ways it could go depending on the barlow. NEVER disassemble an eyepiece or a barlow. Only the outside surfaces need to be cleaned from time to time.
Telescope will not focus.
Some reflectors like yours cannot be used with certain eyepieces because of a lack of in-focus adjustment.
Do not know how to get black cover off of lense
First are you sure you have the CORRECT end of the scope pointed toward the sky? On a reflector type telescope that uses mirrors, the focuser is on the side of the tube on the UP end of the telescope. The mirror is in the bottom.
Mose caps simply pop off, others unscrew. You may be trying to remove the BOTTOM mirror!
I need a manual for tasco 49114500
You will not find a manual for those small reflector telescopes. However they all assemble and are used in the same way.
Meade maintains a web site with all of there assembly and use manuals. Look under the 4.5 inch REFLECTOR header for one similar to your telescope.
By the way this is a REFLECTOR with a mirror in the bottom. of the telescope. The FOCUSER end is pointed UP. Read my tips on my profile page.

Cannot see anything
No the red pointer is not necessary- BUT you will have a harder time aiming the telescope.
Objects in the sky are very tiny. The field of view is about the size of the tip of your finger held at arm's length. VERY small! This is the biggest problem for beginners, the telescope must be pointed DIRECTLY at the object in order to see it. Try for the moon first at night, since it is a BIG target.
Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the telescope focuser. DO NOT use the 2x barlow if you have one. Practice focusing during the day time on a distant object. The image will be upside down, but this is normal.
