Archos 3 Vision Digital Media Player - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

I had the exact same problem on one of my phones. The problem was that half of the small ribbon cable was cut in half, so part of the touchscreen digitizer worked and the other half didn't. I had to either replace the digitizer or get a new phone.

Or you can try the third party download software, i am using Aneesoft Free Youtube downloader.
1. download the Youtube video for your computer with Aneesoft Free youtube downloader which is Free and decent.
2. converting these videos for your Device

Reset your ARCHOS:

1. Start by pressing and holding the power button for 15 seconds. This will force a shutdown. Now turn it on normally.

2. If this did not work, use the end of a paper clip and insert it into the RESET hole underneath the device.
You will feel a small button depression. Now turn on your ARCHOS.
If the problem is not fixed,more than likely the touch screen needs to be completely replaced.

The Archos 3 is down the list in the Mp3 players.

connect to a computer using a usb cable. go to the start menu select my computer. select your mp3 player and delete the files you no longer want.

Have you tried looking for one on Ebay? I usually find all sorts of stuff like that on there.

Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal
Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on
"Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that
you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want,
release, right click and then click on "Delete"
Now your mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
Be careful and do not delete files needed to operate your MP3 player.

Unfrotunately there appears to be NOTHING. I have checked the Archos website but they simplt don't have an online manual.
e-mails to their tech support remain unaanswered (about video file format and mpg playback getting out of sync.)

I hope it is is not the case that they are a French company and treat their Enlish speaking customers with utter contempt but sadly this is what comes across. Customer supper/user documentation etc. is thin on the ground.

Just get this tool to help you.

2. choose 3gp format

Well, one thing u need to know is that Archos 3 vision cant support all file formats and codecs. U need to transcode video files to compatible format with Archos 3 vision. I recommend u Pavtube Video Converter(http://www.pavtube.com/video_converter/) which can transcode between any video files, and it still offers u foramt presets for Archos.

If it is still under warranty, you can fix it for free.

You need to convert the DVD into AVI format. There are multiple programs out there that do this. Be prepared for long conversion times unless you have a powerful computer.

Archos 3 will not play DRM protected songs. You may need to find a converter. I don't know if this is possible.

Have you turned the transmitter on I assume?

I would try other stereos e.g.) your car to see if you can rule out the player or stereo.

Some more info as well, have you been trying different frequencies on your Archos, or just cruising up and down on your stereo?

I believe you need to pick a weak, or no station frequency in order to stream to the stereo, as the player is not sending out a high powered signal.

Mine works on my samsung home theatre from 10 feet away. Have not tested the limits although. Good luck.
