Hi Matt, I know it's been awhile, but I'm making one last ditch effort to fully confirm everything you said. To start with, I replaced the T-Con Board, and it didn't correct the problem. My T-Con Board IS ATTACHED as shown in the picture, with the two ribbon connectors. Since it is connected, are you saying DON'T buy a main board, or are you saying since the T-Con is connected to BUY one? Thanks so much for all your help Matt, I wouldn't have been able to get this far without a good guy such as yourself. If I can't repair, I'm going to part out the boards anyway, if the front panel is bad. Please refer to the picture for clarification. Is it option 1, or 2? 1. Back-light problem. Contact the authorized service center for Sony. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. Have you called your cable company? There may be an issue or setting with the receiver. I have never experienced this problem and have the same set up. But I do know that the tv should not be turning on when the receiver is downloading. What is the name and model number of your tv? This might help in my research of your issue
