U said u tries it with a new one what?The new satalite receiver box?That the only thing,that could be the cause of this problems.

there is problem with power supply.check is there main capcitor fautly.if yes then replace with good one

You need to find out if the power supply is putting out 24vdc for the backlight inverter board, it can be that the inverter board has short circuits which will cause the 24vdc to go into shutdown to protect itself, you can disconnect the power cables to the inverter board to see if you will get the 24vdc back.

all you need is optical toslink to rca converter(adapter)
but you will really loss some clarity and features
because converting digital to analog always eats up quality
and the disadvantage is still now these adapters has 2.1 output not 5.1

To begin with if you do not even get a power light you may have a bad or blown fuse; this can happen even if there was not a power outage etc.

I would suggest you or someone open the set and follow the power cord to the fuse--ALL sets have a fuse on the inside directly connected to the power cord.

If you have never opened this set be very careful. The safe way is to place the set face down on a padded surface (not on the floor) that completely supports the entire front of the set and does not allow pressure to be exerted on the screen at all.

If you find the fuse it can be checked like any fuse and its amperage and value will be printed on it and the board where it is located; ie: 7A 250v means a 7 amp 250 volt rated fuse; they come in different sizes and types and many are special fuses that you will not be able to replace by buying one at Radio Shack etc.

Check your Video Format, Ensure it is set correctly either NTSC or PAL.
