Dim the lights, turn on the TV and shine a bright light on the screen. If you see a faint picture, you most likely have a failed back light circuit. On your particular set, I belive the back light and the power supply are on the same board. I'm almost certain that board needs to be replaced but have the board checked before replacing.

if you don't have a picture but don't have sound, that could be a backlight problem. Take a bright flashlight, turn on the set and shine the light on the panel. If you see a faint image, you have a back light problem. If you don't see a faint image, then I suspect a bad scaler or t-con.

Either the voltage is missing or not to the backlight---The inverter on most models is one of the boards (or two) inside the unit that can be found. The other possible issues are the circuits that turn them on may not be working or the actual lights may be bad.1. Confirm voltage source which should start in power supply is good or not.2. Follow the voltage from source to inverter/s.3.
