Netgear router cannot set up wireless connection showing runtime error

you can do it without the disk although it is just a little on the advanced side here goes, nice and easy. 1) connect the cat5 (big telephone looking wire) from port 1,2,3 or 4 of your router to your computer 2) open a browser (IE, chrome, safari, whatever) 3) where you normally type web address type "192.168.1.1" 4) should ask for username and password (default for netgear is "admin" and "password") 5) click wireless and type the desired wireless name into SSID 6) click "save settings" or "apply settings" 7) for the password choose WPA WPA2 personal and enter your desired password 8) click apply or save again 9) test it!

Can you help me configure my netgear router? I

you can try typing in your browser address bar www.routerlogin.net then press enter this should bring up your routers setting wirelessly but this will only happen if your laptop detects your routers wireless network.

if you can connect your laptop to your router using ethernet cable you can go to the command prompt then type in IPCONFIG then enter this should pull up your ipaddress and the default gateway is your routers Graphical User Interface where you can go and change the settings, your Netgear default gateway should be 192.168.1.1 this is the default gateway that should show in command prompt for netgear routers.

If you are going to use wireless make sure in the router the wireless capability of your router is enabled ^_^

your settings depend on what your Internet service provider requires you for settings

Need to reset Netgear DGND3300 router everyday

You could try a factory reset on the router, hold the reset button on the back for 15 seconds. Reconfigure and test. If that doesn't work, go to the manufacturers site and download and install any newer fireware available. If that still doesn't work or none are available you would be best off simply replacing it. You can get some decent w-routers for $40.

Not able to connect to internet

Hello.

If the Internet light is not on, but the other lights are on, the problem is typically with your provider. Contact Verizon or whoever is your provider.

Be certain you don't have the filter (white connector) connected to your router.

If still a problem, please provide more info such as whether the router was working and just stopped or if you have tried to connect to the Internet with more than one computer, etc.

Hope this helps.

Chapter 1: Connecting the Wireless-G Broadband Router

Hardware Installation

1. Locate an optimum location for the Broadband Router. The best place for the Broadband Router is usually at the center of your wireless network, with line of sight to all of your mobile stations.

2. Fix the direction of the antenna. Try to place it in a position that will best cover your wireless network. Normally, the higher you place the antenna, the better the performance will be. The antenna's position
enhances the receiving sensitivity.

3. Connect a standard Ethernet network cable to the Broadband Router’s Internet port. Then, connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to your Cable or DSL Broadband modem.

4. Connect your network PCs or Ethernet devices to one of the Broadband Router’s numbered ports with a standard Ethernet network cable.

5. Connect the AC Power Adapter to the Broadband Router's Power Socket and the other end into an electrical outlet. Only use the power adapter supplied with the Broadband Router. Use of a different adapter may result in product damage.

Good luck.

Belkin f9k1106v1 range extender not connecting

QUICK TIP: When finding a location for your range extender, it is best to place it within the same room as the computer. You can also use https://192.168.206.1 to access the range extender's web-based setup page. Step 1: Place the range extender in an area where the Wi-Fi signal of your router is strong, but near where you want to establish your extended network. Step 2: Plug in the power supply of the range extender and make sure that it is powered ON. Shortly, its light will begin to flash blue and orange. Step 3: Place your computer near the range extender. Also, make sure your computer is not wired to any other network devices. Step 4: Connect your computer to the range extender by opening the list of Wi-Fi networks and selecting Belkin.setup. Confirm that the list shows it's connected. Step 5: Open a web browser, enter https://belkin.range into the Address bar, and follow the on-screen instructions. Don't forget to type "http". Once the setup for your range extender is complete, you may connect the computer to its Wi-Fi.
