This is normal, the noise you here is most likely ice build up on the condenser coils. when the outside temperature is under around 15c ice will build up on the condenser coils it then falls and hits the fan blades. this will also happen if the unit has been running for a while. there is no need to spay water into the unit as this can cause damage to the electrical components.

Hello, first the filter anf if it is dirty clean, check the evaporator coil and spray it with coil cleaner if it appears dirty, you can purchase coil cleaner at any heating and cooling store. If that does not help most likely you have a leak in the system and must be recharged with refrigerant.

Hello, with the uniit running after a few minutes touch both copper pipes, one should be cold and the other warm. If not and the Compressor running then most likely the unit is low on charge. Also, if the compressor is not running that is w whole differant issue such as bad thermostat, bad capacitor, bad relay, or the compressor itself is bad.
