also when you get the laptop running exactly as you want it please go to the start button on bottom left of your laptop
Type in create a restore point
Then create a restore point naming it something like all good or as i like it
anything that you will then reconise as working good if and when you may need to restore you laptop back to that point

Seems some of your log in files are corrupted, you can run a repair by booting through you operating system CD. and select the repair option which will repair your system, it does not format or delete your data. it will just copy the files which are corrupted.

If it is working in dos mode, if you can see bios, change your windows system

Plug the USB in your com, Open the my computer, you see your USB drive there just right click and select format option to clean the USB, but before formatting make sure you don;t have Important data inside the USB.

Download and install microsoft security essentials.Its free anti virus.Once installed run a full system scan.

To start your computer by using the Last Known Good Configuration feature, follow these steps: 1. Start your computer. 2. When you see the "Please select the operating system to start" message, press the F8 key. 3. When the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, use the ARROW keys to select Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked) , and then press ENTER. 4. If you are running other operating systems on your computer, use the ARROW keys to select Microsoft Windows XP , and then press ENTER.

If Last Known Good Configuration call your computer manufacturer.

go to the start key bottom left of the keyboard
then up to programs
then over to the right to acer empowering technology
then over the right again to acer erecovery management and click on it
then choose reinstall aplications/drivers
then click on the contents
then scroll down to the card reader application driver that you want to reinstall
go over to the right and click on the green download/install icon
and while you are there it is a good idea to reinstall the realtek audio driver
because that plays up quite often

sorry to hear this from u,
any way, if the damage for the internal components for the LCD, it can't - with sorrow - be fixed.
It needs replacement which costs about 100$, regarding your area

System Settings in control panel.

Do a format of the hard drive and reinstall the operating system. That will take care of the problem.
