Clean light will not stop
There are two solutions. The first solution you can try is to turn off the power to the dishwasher and let it reset. If that solution doesn't work it is your control board.
Kenmore Elite Dishwasher, Model 665.15979992
Hello Kenneth,
You can clear the error code by running the self-diagnostic program. With the dishwasher in standby mode (power on, but not running a cycle), press HEATED DRY, then NORMAL WASH, then HEATED DRY then NORMAL WASH again within 6 seconds. This will start the self-diagnostic test. Once this has started, let it run for about 30 seconds, then press CANCEL to end the test. Finally, switch the power off and back on. This will clear the error code and hopefully return the dishwasher to normal operation. If this clears the error, try running the hot water faucet in your kitchen (or closest to the water supply for the dishwasher) until the water runs hot. Then run a normal wash cycle to test the dishwasher. If the fault returns and/or persists after you've done the above, then it would indicate a component failure. The diagnostics test would then need to be run fully to determine the exact cause of the fault and where to look next. If the fault does not return after running the hot water faucet, try running the hot water faucet before every wash.
Hopefully, this simple trick will solve your problem. Please try the above, then post back with the results if you need further assistance. Please reply to me by clicking on "Add a Comment" below your question. Thanks, BElectric

If you have hard water, glasses can look spotted and cloudy even after cleaning. Sometimes changing the dishwasher detergent can help. The easiest solution to clearing up glasses that start to look cloudy is toadd some vinegar to the bottom of the dishwasher before you start a cycle. Simply add 1 cup of white vinegar and it will clear up your glasses very well.
You should see marked improvement after the first time you do this. If they are not crystal clear then simply repeat the process until all of the cloudiness is gone. In fact I recommend to using a little vinegar in each cycle to maintain the clarity of the glass.
Note: you can pre-test this by rubbing some vinegar on an individual glass with a cloth. If you cannot remove the cloudiness by soaking it and rubbing vinegar on it then it is possible that the glass is etched due to harsh or cheap dishwasher detergent and vinegar will not solve the problem.
The detergent flap does not open during the wash.
The flap solenoid may have got stuck.
You can try to disengage it by turning power off and back on. Alternatively it might need replacement. Refer item 8 in
this schematic.
Hope this helps. I am assuming the rest of the dishwasher is working ok and the wash cycle does get completed (with dishes staying dirty, I presume)

Need prefix for model number. Need complete model number. I believe that the numbers that you have given are stock numbers from your user manual. Kenmore can be several different manufacturers. Some brands have kits to mount unit from the sides using brackets at the top. If stainless steel tub, look for removable plastic caps on the right and left sides of unit. These holes would be used for installing bolts into cabinet. If plastic tub and no kits are available holes can be drilled into sides to secure unit to cabinet. As long as heads of bolts(screws) are flush to allow door closing, unit will not leak because of tub(door gasket.

I have the same problem as those who stated their dishes are not getting clean. If you listen to the wash cycle you should hear water sloshing around inside. If you hear just a humming sound the washer has no water. I have this problem. I had a tech come and he told me the water is syphoning out my drain and I need to change my plumbing, then he charged me $65. I have lived in this house for ten years. 6 with the washer that came with house and 4 with this Kenmore Elite. This problem started about 6 months ago. So what I have been doing is opening the door, after the humming starts and the sloshing stops, and adding about 2 L of water. It seems to wash just fine after that.

You may try a different detergent, and this may give you some relief. What works best, in my opinion, is to use the least amount of detergent that you can, and still get the dishes clean. Cut the added detergent in half, and go downwards from there. We are currently using ~25% of the recommended amount, and the dishes clean up very well, with no residue.
Rinsing excess food off of the dishes prevents the soft food disposer in most new models from being overwhelmed, and will increase the overall performance of your machine over several cycles.
Also, using a good rinse agent will help, as will opening the cabinet door after the drying cycle (while still warm), allowing the dishes to continue to air dry.
Hope that this gives you some relief.
Best regards,
