Have you tried to hook up another sub (spk) to the amp? Or just wire it to a stereo to see if it works? single voice coil or dual?

Your manual should have all info inside.

Generally speaking if the voice coil is actually 'blown' (accepted too much power therefore reads as a short when connected to an ohmmeter) It would be cheaper to purchase a new sub woofer.

90% of the speaker manufacturing price is in the voice coil. The cage, driver and dustcap as well as the surround are inexpensive components.

I would suggest testing the voice coil with an ohmmeter first before you decide what to do. If the meter doesn't read a short then its likely a TV repair shop can reconnect the lead that attaches the terminal to the voice coil.
