Check the aerial connection onto the box is firm and the wire is not pulled tight. If it looks ok disconnect it from the box and connect it to the TV aerial input and then see if the TV can show any channels at all when you tune it in. If there is nothing coming to the TV, the aerial feed or actual roof aerial may be damaged, or not pointing at the transmitter mast.

You should be able to get all the standard freeview channels without bothering with TopUP TV.

If this doesn't tune all the Stanadard Freeview Channels then you're not getting a strong enough signal for this unit so it won't be able to upgrade the TopUP TV side of it.

U know basic electronic and have all the tools also can do basic soldering work?Yes,take the unit aparts.Check all the components parts that call capacitors on the circuit board carefully it is dying and leaking.These capacitors parts are alway bulges up or puffing onto it tops.By replacing all these dying capacitors components,than the unit will continue contantly provided correct voltages current to the unit,than it will not shutdown again.

I had this problem aswell! I tried everything but ended up phoneing the help line, when they asked for what frequancies they found out i was picking up different ones form two different stations. I took the ariel out of the back on the freeview box and run a scan for channels (of course it came up with none as the ariel is unpluged but it overwirites and clears the incorect frequencies). Then plug the areil back into the freeview box and run a scan for channels. After doing this i picked up the correct frequencines form the correct station and my recordings actually recorded! If you phone the help line (08444159159) they will tell you what frequencies you should be picking up. I hope this qorkes for you!
