The IRONY of my Quiet Guard!! SO LOUD!!!!

Yes the wash arm can be removed to get to the sump area. Take the model number for your dishwasher and enter it into a site like partselect.com. There you can get a blown up diagram of the components that need to be removed to get to the cause of the grind noise. Usually a seed or some other hard object has found its way down there.

No hot water during wash cycle

If the dishwasher is connected at the sink and you get hot water there, you have a faulty heater or safety thermostat.

Won't drain

Make sure the garbage disposal is clear so the water can exit. After that, you may have something caught in the drain hose or check valve. It would require removing the bottom kick plate to gain access to check.

Check the power coming to the dishwasher, circuit breaker. Look at the wiring schematic to see where power comes from first, the control the door switch.
  • Make sure door is closed and properly latched.
  • If delay start option is available, has it been set and is unit still in time delay before starting.
  • Check to see if cycle is set correctly (refer to Operating Instructions in the "Use & Care Manual")

Green blinking light

If you don't have the manual for your dishwasher to find out why the green light blinks, try to get the model number off your dishwasher from the inside edge and go online to find a website that provides online manuals.

Bottom Spray Arm Not Rotating

check to make sure you are getting enough water entering the dishwasher. If you add a liter of water, does the water arm turn then? If so, you may have a faulty water valve that is not allowing enough water to enter to turn the spray arm. Hope that solves it :)

Kenmore dishwasher does not wash completely

I had the same problem. I switched to a gel dishwashing liquid and added about 1/2 cup of white vinegar to each wash cycle. (Just pour the vinegar in a cup, put it in the dishwasher and let the water fill the cup and disperse the vinegar.) Gradually you can reduce the amount of vinegar that you use. Worked for me, hope it does the same for you.

Small door where soap goes does not open during cycle.

Most detergent cups are spring loaded and released by either a mechanical trip or by a bi-metal strip latch. If your model is a simple dial timer type, look for a mechanical linkage between the timer and detergent cover. If it is a touch panel control, look for the other type. The bi-metal strip type has a heating wire wraped around it that can open electrically or burn out physically.

Mechanical types can be checked by rotating the timer knob 360 degrees while watching the detergent cover linkage. Electrical types require use of an ohm meter to check the resistance of the heating element on the bi-metal strip.

If you are using powder type detergent, make sure it is not caked when added to the cup or it can jam the rotating type covers.

Dishwasher does not fill with water

First (I know this sounds bad but it does happen)check to see the tap is turned on (I have had where the owner thinks the tap is on and asked if I am nuts turns out the cleaning lady switched it off) If so turn off the tap and remove the inlet hose from the machine, there should be a filter in the unit where the pipe screws on this is more than likely blocked if so clean and replace pipe etc check on the tap side sometimes there is one there aswell clean if dirty,if there is still no water then we need to go deeper, the pressure switch could be fualty or there may be water in the pressure tube wich will tell the timer that the machine is full etc,I would however suggest you check the above first if you do not come right let me know and we can then investigate further.

No power to the main water valve during cycle.

I'm no expert, but I recently had a fill valve replaced. There is a float switch at the bottom of most dishwashers. Its purpose is to cut power to the normally-closed electrically-opened fill valve in the event of an overfill. If the float switch "thinks" there is an over-fill situation, it will cut power to valve, closing it. I would start with replacing the float switch or checking to ensure that it is not stuck in the "up" position due to debris.

Again, I'm no expert.

Kenmore Quiet3 not cleaning top rack, now stopped cleaning all

The problem is likely that the cutter/chopper filter is plugged. This reduces or eliminates water flow to the cleaning arms.
Solution:
Remove dish baskets
Remove bottom arm - Rotate the centre post until arm is free to be lifted out.
Remove conduit to top arm(s) - Remove 2 screws, one at top and one at back. Rotate whole conduit 45 deg right and lift off of centre post.
Remove bottom plastic assembly. - Remove 4 screws and lift off.
Remove cutter cap. - Remove 1 screw at front left. Lift off plastic cap. Remove cutter filter. It is on a spring loaded pin. Pull cutter blade foreword and lift filter disc straight up. Clean filter disc thoroughly
Reassemble!

Does not clean dishes on top rack

DG:

There is a rubber boot connecter in the back of the top rack which slips over a pipe coming up the back of the unit. This is how the water gets to the top rack. That boot is subject to rot and breaking. Check and see. It should be easy to replace, if you can get the part.

Dishlex

Hi there, now I do not remember the original problem, if there is not water coming into the appliance, start checking the water pump. Also locate and check the water level floarting switch, that stop the pump.

If water is not drained out, then you need to check the drain pump.

Try entering the exact model number here and see if you can get schematics for your appliance.

Kenmore dishwasher not cleaning

Growand:

There is a rubber tube which supplies water to the top spray arms. That is, If yours has top spray arms. This rubber tube has to make a connection when one slides the top rack back in. That tube will rot after a while, check it out.

If the soap is not being used up, reduce the amount of soap you are using and run the dishwasher empty with a pie plate sitting on the bottom rack with a cup of distilled (cheap) vinegar in it. Run it hot and long, recheck and redo if neccessary.
