Once the 4 screws are removed everything should come off. be careful as the outside rubber bit on the surrounding does not come off with these screws, so avoid pulling that. The bottom wash arm should be unclipped out first. Then remove the screws and take pictures with a camera for referencing to help put back. From here it's self explanatory and you should be able to clean everything and put back together.

We had turned the power off at the breaker but only flicked it on and off, a friend recommended we turn off the power and leave it off for 5 minutes then turn it back on. This solved the entire problem!

It sounds like you (or the installation technician) forgot to turn the water on at the angle stop (where the supply line connects into the water supply). If you have a two-outlet angle stop, check the sink faucet to make sure you have water. If you have water, check the electrical connections and the breaker to make sure you have power. These are the main points to check for this kind of issue.

check and see if you are getting ac 110 volts to your water vave when trying to start the unit. if no power check your breakers and /or the incoming power to your dishwasher if they are ok and show 110 voltage coming to the unit then you probably have a control board or touchpad problem which would need a little more detailed check out.
If you do have ac 110 to your water valve then you may just have a bad water valve. Because the washer has to fill first. Hope that helps!!

You have too much water pressure it sounds like for the fill valve to operate properly. I am assuming it is chattering? How much water pressure do you have? If its too high an inexpensive regulator can be purchased at most plumbing supply stores to install in the DW supply line.

Check the following areas for faults.

1. No power to the dishwasher
Make sure there's power getting to the dishwasher. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the dishwasher (inside the junction box, behind the bottom kick panel), if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced.

2. Door switch
Replace if defective.

3. Timer or control board
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

4. Selector switch
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

yes you can, what you want to do is right after you read my solution... rate it. :D but anyways wht you have to do is take out the filter underneath the bottom tray where the dishes go. and clean out all that yummy wet gross food from last week. it'll be all gunked up. that's stopping the dirty water from draining.

Hi. You can test the fill valve for voltage. If it is getting 120V and n water is coming in, change the valve.
Some models you can pull the float out.
When you lift it up and down, can you hear it clicking?
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

I finally decided to calm down and use my head and managed to solve the problem. I read the instructions that are on the top of the dishwasher door. ( Smart move on my part HUH!) It said that when the door lock light is on everything is disabled. Hold the air/dry button down for 4 seconds and the lock light will go out. Guess what, IT WORKED. Here is what I learned from this. Always read all instructions. I spent $9.95 for an answer that was right in front of me. Humans can be so dumb I am!!!!

youll need to enter a diagnistic mode, press in this order, hi-temp(sani-rinse)----heated dry--hitemp---heated dry... all lights should light, close door and let cycle for about a min, htne press the cancelbutton, you should be good to go, the buttons on your model may read slighty different names, if this "toggle of buttons" does not work, you can remove thelower access panel and htere willl be a tech sheet/trouble shoooter behind the panel, in there it will explain how to enter diag/test mode

Where can I can sears part # 170664 side mount bracket for a kenmore dishwasher mohel 13593?

sounds to me that you may have some suds residue in the dishwasher that keeps it from draining completely. Get you some dishwasher cleaner which you can purchase at wal-mart or wherever you buy your detergent, and clean out your dishwasher. It is a inexpensive test. Alot less expensive than having a tech come to your house. Make sure that your drain hose is mounted higher that where it goes into the drain. This is also a common problem that I encounter in the field. Hope this helps. Let me know if I can help you futher.

hi,
There's no water entering the machine
If there's no water entering your dishwasher, check these:

Water-inlet valve
Float switch

Water-inlet valve
The water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. If this valve is defective, you need to completely replace it. It's usually located behind the lower access panel on the left or right side. It's the device with the main water line (usually copper) from the house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it.

Float switch
The float switch is a small electrical switch that's located right below the dishwasher "floor." Above the switch, on the inside of the dishwasher, is a plastic cylinder that floats up as water fills the dishwasher. If this switch is defective, or if the plastic float gets caught or trapped in the raised position, the water can't enter the dishwasher. If the float switch is defective, you need to replace it.

good luck.........

You will get some sudsing, but just soak up what you can with a towel and then run 1 or 2 cycles and you should be OK.
