Check for clog in chopper assy. This can be accessed by dissassembling the sprayer assy in the bottom of the washer. Chopper assy is replaceable part , if necessary, ~$25.

I just had a simliar problem with all spray arms and solved the problem by cleaning the food screen. Basically, it takes water pressure to make the spray arms rotate. Before assuming there is a failed part, make sure the spray arms are getting max water pressure by checking the food screen. Here's how I serviced my Kenmore dishwasher.

The lower arm assembley is removable by twisting the center plastic piece. It's not very tight and should come off easily by twist with a pliers (but gently). Then remove the tubing to the upper arms (Two screws). Then remove the bottom drain cover (4 star screws).

Under the drain cover are two more things to remove. One, a plastic plate over the bottom of the water drain (1 screw). Two cover to the food screen (1 screw). After removng the screw to the cover of the food screen, it will be a little difficult to remove that cover. The side opposite the screw requires releasing a catch with a screw driver. It's hard tell which way it releases, just keep trying different ways until it pops up. The cover may stick a little beacuse of the food stuck in the screen.

Once you have access to the screen, the screen can be removed by pulling on the center shaft (spring loaded) with a needle nose pliers and lifting the screen straight up. (Note: there maybe a blade next to the screen used to braek up the food.)

After removing the screen, clean it (I used a plastic scrub brush).

Reassembly is performaing these steps in the reverse order.

Hope this helps!

water not getting to the unit as they should be or your pump is clog with left over you will need to take the spray arm out and get to the pump and clean it.
watch for broken glass!!!

Sounds like something in the pump, only guessing at this point. If you are capable take it apart and check it out. You can tie down the rotating arms inside then run the machine to be sure it is not one of them.
Good Luck,

the only way you can tell if the upper rack is not getting enough water is to turn a glass right side up in each corner. then run for 2 minutes and see if there is water in each cup.
if you still dont get water, then you have checked the pump, the only thing left is that you are not getting enough water into the unit.
start the d/w at a normal cycle, let it fill and go into the wash cycle, takes about 3 minutes, then check to see if the water level is just below the heating element. if so then it has to be the wash pump being plugged.
if not enough water then you should change the water inlet valve. some times they do get plugged but also make sure you are getting full water pressure to the unit as that could cause not enough water into unit. the faucet under sink could be at fault i have seen valve work but not let enough water in, so dont be surprised if you need a new valve.

check your overflow float inside the machine. it looks like a small hat or cone. it should move freely up and down. if it is stuck down, the water will continue to flow in. the gasket is designed to stop splashing water. it is not an underwater seal. good luck

Remove the door inner panel and check the dispenser door solenoid for free movement along with the latch mechanism. Water can enter through a leaking seal and corrode the interior of the solenoid causing sluggish or non-functioning of the latch. Change the solenoid if it seems sticky and can't be fixed by cleaning the bore and plunger (don't apply oil as it will gum up the operation after a while).

SOUNDS LIKE YOUR LATCH IS NOT LOCKING. THIS THIS COULD NEED A LATCH OR HINGE AJUSTMENT. BUT ITS YOUR LATCH THAT ISN"T WORKING

Not likely an air lock. When plumbing work is done the pipes ge shook up and then particles plug up the screens on these and washer and faucets. I would make sure the over flow float is properly working and then check the screen on the fill valve. Could be a coincidence and the valve failed but that is my last choice in this case. Eric

Try pushing and holding the "Air Dry" button for at least 4 seconds. This should turn the control lock off.

Make sure you get water to the dishwasher. Check to see if the water shut-off valve (located under the sink) is open. If you get water to the dishwasher, but there is still no water inside during the fill cycle, the problem might be with a faulty water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side), in which case replace the water valve.

I have a very similar dishwasher, with a very similar problem. I fixed it by removing debris from the water evacuator pump located towards the front of the bottom of the machine (the last motor before the drain hose. In my case, grape stems had clogged it up. Once emptied, it purrs once again. NOTE: don't disassemble the motor, just flush it out, there is an o-ring gasket that is a bear to re-install.

Hi,
Please follow the steps provided bellow :
Fill washer with water and wait for the timer to get to the drain mode.
Unplug the washer from the electric outlet.
Open the case, and disconnect the water hose from the outlet of the water pump.
If you get water pouring out from the pump, then plug that up and check the hose to the sewer. If that is clogged, then you have found the problem.
Some washers have a self cleaning filter in that hose somewhere. Check that to be sure it is working properly.
Reassemble hose from step 3.
Plug washer back in. If it pumps out now, then you are done. If it doesn't, then the water pump is probably defective, so replace it.
Reassemble washing machine case...you're done...
