How can i tell if i have a uhf or vhf motorola cp200

The model number for a VHF radio has a letter K in the position where a UHF radio has a letter R. For example, AAH50RDC9AA2AN = UHF while AAH50KDC9AA2AN = VHF

I have a CP200 that beeps twice at regular intervals, and seek to correct this. It transmits and all, but the beeping is irritating.Suggestions?

It really sounds like a low battery alert. Swap batteries and check the date codes. How long off the charger until you get the beeping? Lithium batteries do not last as long (lifetime) as the older types. Motorola uses 4 numbers, year followed by the week such as 1344 = 2013, 44th week. Chargers are just that and do not test a battery. If the problem persists I have something else, but it is not easy.

How can I program my rdu2080d to communicate with my cp200

Both radios require appropriate programming software and cables. Your CP200 would need to be a UHF model in order to match the CP200. Your best option would be visit your local dealer or contact an online repair center for help in programming.

My Cp200 can't connect to my new Motorola Talkabout T5720 (7 Channels) 2-Way Radio, need HELP

The CP200 is a dealer programmable radio which was available in UHF or VHF. You would need the UHF model to match. Then the radio itself would need programmed to the same frequencies as the T5720. This requires Motorola proprietary software, cable and radio interface box (RIB). Your best option would be stopping by your nearest dealer to have it programmed.

CP200 radio goes tp sleep, no R/T Have to turn radio off then on to continue to T/R

Check your battery, trade with a known good unit and see if the problem continues. Also, check the programming to be certain you do not have any battery saving features turned on. If neither of these are the problem, then your radio is in need of repair.

CP200d VHF portables only working at the most 4 blocks with very little obstruction

Check your antennas, use the standard antenna for best range. Also check your programming to be certain you are programmed to match one another identically, and the radio is set to high power. Check your batteries to make certain they are not bad or low. And lastly, hold your radio upright, perpendicular to the ground when transmitting for best range.

How to boost the signal Motorolla CP200XLS

First, check your programming to see you are operating at full power (4W UHF or 5W VHF). Secondly, use the standard 6" antenna which came with the radio. (Stubby antennas will reduce range). Third, educate users to hold the radio with the antenna perpendicular to the ground. Tilting the radio to the side will reduce range. Fourth, have your radio, if older, retuned and aligned to bring it back to factory spec. Lastly, if range is still a problem, you might check to see if there is a system or repeater you can utilize in your area to extend the range of your radios. Best regards.

Cannot adjust volume

You possibly have a bad volume pot (potentiometer), or it is possible you are mixing narrowband and wideband radios together, and the narrowband radio is whispering to the wideband. The volume pot is something which would be replaced during a radio repair. (Current 2014 pricing is around $85). Best regards.

HEllo, I have a Motorola Radius CP200. When I

If the sound is continuous, like a long tone humming, it is possible you are on a channel which is not programmed. Try changing your channel knob to a different channel and see if the sound changes. If the sound is not continous, and only happens upon pressing a button, we are not certain what you are experiencing without seeing the radio first hand. If it were the battery you would get a low battery beep and then the radio would shut itself down. This can happen from a bad battery or a low battery. If this were the situation, you should check your charger and be certain the light comes on and stays on when the radio is placed on the charger. (Note: your radio should always be turned off when on the charger.) A quick test would be to swap the battery with a known good radio and see if you have the same problem. If so, you know it is not a battery or charging problem. If none of these items help, send or bring the radio to a Motorola repair shop for a quick analysis. Best regards.

Flashing red light on radio

Three things come to mind: 1) The radio is receiving, hence the light, but you may have a different PL code than the other radio and it is muting the transmission. Check your programming to be certain both radios are programmed alike. The red light indicates activity on your frequency. 2) Your radio may have a problem with the receive side of the radio or a bad speaker. 3) The transmitting radio may have a problem with transmit. This can be a sign of a bad battery. Swap batteries and see if the problem moves to the other radio. If so, replace the battery. (It takes more energy to transmit than to receive, so loss of transmit is common with a bad battery.) Best regards.

Compatibility

If your CP200 has a model number beginning with AAH50R it can be programmed to match the RDU2080d. If your CP200 model number begins with AAH50K, then the answer is no.The letter R in the model number indicates it is UHF, and on the RDU2080d, the letter U in the model name indicates it is UHF. Both of these radios are programmable, and could be reprogrammed to match one another, if both UHF.Best regards.
