Motorola TLKR T5 Two Way Radio - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

The receive indicator is permanently on, on the TLDR-T5 so the walkie talkies only work one way. How do we fix this?

Check the buttons on the radio. One may be "jammed" especially the MON button. It would indicate receive all the time. Check for dirt around the button and case, it can surprise you what little can jam a button. I clean around the buttons with cotton swabs and alcohol. Be careful and do not use sharp objects to move the buttons back and forth, side to side, up and down. I suggest your fingers, or a dull letter opener or screwdriver, but little force. If the MON or other button does not release, you may need to take the case apart. http://www.motorolasolutions.com/content/dam/msi/docs/business/products/two-way_radios_-_unlicensed/_documents/tlkr-t_series/static_files/t5_manual_eu.pdf

The speaker sounds tinny and has lack of volume

Sounds like the speaker got wet. If there is an earphone socket, does that sound OK ? If so, the speaker is your problem and must be changed out.

Hi, i have 2 TLKR-T3 and i cant tune it ,so what

Try setting the radio back to a simple mode of operation. Shut off all special features such as the sub-code (interference eliminator code), VOX, room monitor, and call tones. Go to just one basic channel, such as channel one. Then check to see if the radios talk to one another. If not, check your battery packs, as it takes more energy to transmit than to receive. Swap battery packs and see if the problem moves to the other radio. And lastly, get a third radio involved to see if one of your radios is simply defective.

My TLKR-T3 does not work. One

Check your programming. The frequency and code must be identical on the two radios. Here is a link to the user guide http://www.gouldelectronics.co.uk/product-downloads/T5-20Manual-20EU.PDF

The description you give is indiciative of the code being set differently between the two radios. For basic operation set the code to off (zero).

Best regards.

I have a pair of Motorola MS350 radios. 1 works fine but one does not receive or transmit. I have both radios set up the same.

If your frequency and code are set the same, you have either a battery problem or a radio problem. For a quick battery test, swap the battery pack from the good radio into the one with the problem and see if the problem moves. Then you will know if it is simply the battery. If both settings are identical and the battery swap does not solve the problem, you have a defective radio.

I need help to dismantle a motorola radius sp10 2 way radio

Remove the battery, slip a small screw driver into the slot at the bottom of the radio between the outer housing and the battery tray, gently pry up. If your radio has a pair of battery contacts on the exterior they will come up with the tray. Be gentle, and do not disturb the Mylar ribbon that runs down the back of the tray. Once the tray is removed, using a frame removal tool (shaped like a squared letter U) you slip the tool in the channels on either side of the radio where you removed the battery tray. Then slide the tool upward until it meets the two plastic ears. The tool will slip under the ears and using your tool you can push the component board out the top of the housing. If your radio has an 8-dip-switch private line board, you may want to watch you do not damage or dislodge it in the process.

Can the Motorola factory replace the battery in the H730 headset?

It is possible to have the battery in your Motorola H730 headset replaced, but it would likely need to be done by a third-party repair service as the battery is not typically user-replaceable. Motorola does not offer an official repair service for the H730 headset, so you may need to find a third-party repair service that specializes in repairing Bluetooth headsets. Be aware that third-party repairs may void any remaining warranty on the device. You can also consider purchasing a new headset if you prefer not to have it repaired.

I have two older Motorola Walkies Talkabout FR60 wont send or receive and a T5820 with the rubber broken off the antenna is is cost feasible to fix or not

I believe for the FR60 walkie-talkies, if they are not sending or receiving, the issue could be related to the antenna, battery, or internal components. You can try replacing the batteries and/or antennas to see if that resolves the issue. As for the T5820 walkie-talkie, if the rubber on the antenna is broken, it's likely that the antenna itself is also damaged. In this case, you can try replacing the antenna with a new one. Antennas are typically available for purchase online or at electronics stores. In terms of cost, repairing older walkie-talkies like these may not always be cost-effective. If the repairs are extensive or require replacement of major components, it may be more practical to purchase new walkie-talkies instead.
