Memory card cannot be used

First make sure that your SD card is not write protected. Look on the edge of the SD card and you will see a very small slide switch. Slide it to the unprotected position. This feature is to allow you to prevent accidental erasure of the memory. If that does not solve your problem, make sure that you format the SD card in your camera; not on your computer. If you go into your camera's menu you will see where you can tell the camera to format the SD card. If that does not work, try another SD card.

Lock lens aperture ring at minimum aperture

Turn the aperture ring on the lens to its minimum setting (largest f/number). If there is an orange slide on or near the ring, slide it so that the aperture ring doesn't turn.

Nikon D3000 flash wont stay closed due to broken clip.

Unfortunately Nikon stopped selling parts on July 13th, 2012. I checked and the part you need is not currently for sale on Ebay so you best hope is to call local repair shops and hope one has either the part still in stock or a salvage top cover they can pull the part off of. The other choice is to send the camera to Nikon and eat a $200 repair bill.If you are annoyed by Nikon's actions I would strongly suggest you email the president of the company to express your displeasure. Only by having a lot of customer complaints will Nikon maybe recind their ridiculous policy.

I brought a samyang mirror lens 800mm for my nikon d3000, what t-mount adapter do i need to fit it to my camera?

It may seem obvious, but you need a T-mount adapter for Nikon. Two potential sources are Adorama and B&H.

I have a nikon d3000

This problems sounds like you are trying to take pictures too close to your snakes. These lenses do have a limitation and usually you need to stand at least about 6 feet away from your subjects. If you are using a Macro lens then you can be closer; but the lens must be set to macro or have this feature. If you think you maybe having some type of focusing issue then I suggest you contact Photo Tech at www.phototech.com because they are the authorized Nikon service facility.

Good Luck

The screen of the viewfinder has a black dot.. i

Remove the lens of your camera, do it in a clean room, look at the mirror insie the lens to see if the dot is not there rather that on the outside of your viewfinder.
If it is not there it might be on the inside part of the focusing screen. Still inside the camera look at the upper part of the body, the focusing screen looks opaque.

If you still cant find the dot it might be on the inner side of the focusing screen.
Here is a tutorial on how to remove it on a d70 it is essentially the same thing on your camera.
Otherwise it can also be on the inner part of the viewfinder. In this case I recommend to send the camera to a repair shop as the removing of the viewfinder seems to be more difficult on the d3000 than on other camera.

Hope this helps.

When i view the pics i took on the camera, any

You're seeing blown-out highlights. Those are the portions of your picture that have been overexposed so much that they've gone pure white and all detail has been lost. This is generally considered a bad thing and so the camera is warning you about them. The proper fix is to reduce the exposure using exposure compensation to bring back the details. This can lead to the loss of detail in the shadows as they go pure black, but that's not as bad a thing since we don't expect to see details in the dark. However, the blinking is just a warning since the camera doesn't know what effect you're trying for.

That was the long answer. The short answer is: press up/down on the multiselector to select a different view of your photo.

I have a new Nikon

Hi,

This is highly suggestive of CCD sensor. Unfortunately, there is no DIY for this. You need to get the sensor replaced. There were few recalls for the same in the past. You need to call up Nikon and check,if this model is under CCD advisory. If it is, it would be repaired without any charge. If not, then you need to raise a complaint and expect a reply from Nikon.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
