The 5022 is specified to work with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it will fit into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work in the 5022. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

The sd memory card is

Your camera uses SD memory cards. On one edge is a slider switch: towards the electrical contacts is the unlocked position and away from them is locked.

Unfortunately, the switch is easy to move accidentally and it's also easy for it to appear to be unlocked when it isn't. Like any mechanical component it's also possible for the switch to fail.

If the switch is in the locked position then slide it fully to the unlocked position; if it's already in the unlocked position, slide it fully to the locked position and then fully back again. There should be a soft click at each end of the switch travel, if not then the switch is definitely faulty or obstructed.

If that fails, then try looking closely at the switch in both positions to ensure that there is no debris obstructing its movement, if not then check the electrical contacts to ensure that they're completely clean and grease-free. Don't touch the contacts with your bare skin, but if the contacts need cleaning then a cotton bud (Q-tip) moistened with a little alcohol or methylated spirits can be used to clean them.

If you still have no fix, then try a different SD card as yours may have an irreparable faulty switch. If the card does prove to be faulty then on most major brands you may be able to return them to the manufacturer for exchange: I've found that they will often do this on a goodwill basis even if the card is out of warranty.

If all options regarding the memory card are unsuccessful, then you have a faulty camera and further remedies require either a professional repair or replacement of the camera.

I hope that my answer has been of use and has given you additional options to fix your problem. Please take a moment to rate my reply.

Memory card locked can't take any pctures

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Download this free tool and run it on you card and it should be able to recover all pictures provided that you have not used the card since formatting. I recommend using a card reader for this.

After downloading and running (no installation required) , simply select deep scan and your memory card and it will start scanning, To recover a found file , right click it and select save.

Please note that the file names will probably not be available and also that some of the properties of the photo like date taken could be lost.

No sound for vivitar 5022 how do it get sound

Unfortunately you can't. The ViviCam is designed primarily as a still camera, with some video capabilities grafted on. Those capabilities do not include audio. You can add a soundtrack using video-editing software on a computer, you just can't record one on the camera.

I know that isn't the answer you wanted to see, but there it is.

No. You cannot add a microphone to the 5022. The camera simply does not record any audio. You can add a soundtrack using video editing software on a computer, you just can't do it on the camera.

I just bought a new

The most common problem with cameras that will not recognize or use sd cards is that the card type is incompatible with the camera.

By this I mean, there are two flavors of sd cards: SD and SDHC (high capacity).

The cards look identical, except for the 'SDHC' designation on the high capacity card.

Some devices (most devices that weren't manufactured in the last year or 18 months or so) will not read or write to an SDHC memory card.

I have had this frustration myself.

I hope that helps.
