Kenmore trash compactor wont close foot pedal broken
This is a job that you can do, but take your time. First there is a pedal repair kit that you will need. I have attached a link that will help you with that. As the compactor is heavy be careful not to damage the floor when you remove it and of course make sure it is unplugged before starting for safety. I recommend sitting it on a packing blanket or rug. Then remove the kick/toe panel and follow the directions in the repair kit. Plug in and test before reinstalling. http://www.directparts.com/

My Kenmore dishwasher Model 665.15112K210 is not heating the water or drying the dishes. what is the best way to determine what is not functioning properly?
The most likely culprit is the heating element. Most of the time with a close visual inspection you will find a burn spot on the element. If that is not the concern, unplug the unit for safety, then unplug the heating element and using an ohm meter you can test the element. Of course you need to do a visual inspection of the wiring as you access it. If the problem is not found yet it will be time to disassemble the door and start testing the computer. I do recommend an authorized repair company do the work depending on your experience. I hope this helps

Some cycle buttons on my kenmore dishwasher do not work. I always use the smart wash.
Not using all the buttons from time to time can be a problem as moisture can get into the contacts and corrode them. Depending on the model the contacts may be cleaned instead of replaced.

Have a kenmore ultra wash quiet Guard 3 was working good now have no power at all to dishwasher un plugged it and plugged it back in even tried the Breaker still no power what so ever what's wrong
There are a couple of possibilities. To test first unplug the unit for safety. then you must disassemble the door. Inside the door you will find the computer and attached to the computer you will find a thermal fuse. Testing that fuse would be my first check and if it is good checking the computer and door switches would be next. How can I fix kenmore elite dishwasher model #665? It's making a loud noise during wash cycle. Thank you.
Without hearing the noise I would guess the bearings in the wash pump are going bad. This an issue that happens from time to time especially if the dishwasher sits idle for longer periods of time and something that does need attention as it could start leaking water and do floor damage.

Kenmore Dishwasher cracked hull underneath. Is there a way to glue or patch it up?
if it is fiberglass and you are good at using that fiberglass patch kit, you could try it, but I would not attempt it -- the water damage you are not aware of over time can be both extensive and expensive.

Kenmore elite dishwasher cancel is on constantly, no other buttons will work.
Hey, I have a 5 year old Kenmore Elite dishwasher also. Mine started acting up and couldn't figure out why. I finely unplugged it for an hour and plugged it back in, it reset the Electronic broad inside and will work till it happens again. I tried tracing the wires down with the wiring Schematic and couldn't find anything like some kind of fluke some how but unplugging it and waiting works for my problem so who knows it night do it for you and save some big bucks. It's only happen maybe 5-6 times in 3-4 years since new and was out of warranty of course, but I trusted Kenmore for years and years but it works fine after doing that and I'm not calling a repairman for it. I hope it might help, like I said who knows right. Okay. Ben

soap dispensers open electrically, ether with a motor or solenoid. Ether that device is bad or a wiring problem or the control unit.

My Kenmore QuietGuard bottom rack washes but the top rack not at all.The dishwasher is cleaned incl the sprayer arms & check sprayer arms are cleared to rotate it still doesn't clean. How to fix it?
it would be improbable that you put too tall an item on the top rack every time you wash, but it is also impossible to check without a see thru tub. Just make sure there are no tall items and maybe lower the top rack. Some dishwashers have the top arm on the bottom of the rack and use a connection in the back when the rack is pushed in. If yours does make sure it isn't deformed and not making properly.

We have a Kenmore mod# 13743k. When I touch any wash mode the light comes on normally - but when I hit "start" it does nothing. It had been operating fine prior.
a number of possible issues. 1. door sensor not allowing it to start 2. it is starting but there is no water flowing == water supply or vavle 3. corroded connections = water vavle or other places 4. control unit.

Kenmore control panel. Is it normal wear and tear on a Kenmore dishwasher control panel buttons if model is 16 years old.
I don't know that I would call it "normal", but it's certainly not surprising. The typical life span of any major appliance is probably in the neighborhood of 12 to 20 years, and electronic components are often the first to fail. Watch for a sale on a new dishwasher (especially a model that may be a year or two old) and dig out your wallet.
