The 40" version of the Samsung 5200 series 5, UN40J5200AF, does have a 3.5 mm (mini) headphone/speaker audio out jack. This TV does not have a headphone jack. It only has a optical digital audio output, Toslink. To connect this to most headphones, you'll need a digital to analog audio converter. You'll need to provide the cables (optical digital audio, RCA (M/M) to 3.5 mm (F) adapter). For some headphones, you can use just RCA audio cables or RCA (M/M) to 3.5 mm (M) audio cable. Try unplugging it for 15 to 30 minutes and try again. Mine did this last year and unplugging it got it working again. I had to reconfigure the settings again.

have you tried moving the speakers to in front of the screen?

Check to see if your phone's do not disturb is on. I had a phone that after repeated volume adjustments started turning it on without me realizing it.

Will need to be repaired by an electronics shop. If under warranty contact samsung for repair options.
