What model is the Sanyo Camcorder? Some manuals are available on the product page under the Resources tab.

Current models are listed here: http://us.sanyo.com/Dual-Cameras . Older models are listed here: http://us.sanyo.com/Cameras-Camcorders-Previous-Models . Click on the link for your model and then choose Resources. I found the owner's manual in both English and French for the models I checked.

For example, the direct link to the English manual for the VPC-E2BL is http://us.sanyo.com/dynamic/product/Downloads/VPC-E2_OM_English-5855614.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Hi,

The best way to delete the photos from Camdorder is to Connect it to the PC and under MY Computer or Computer, you will find a Drive created. Open the Drive and Delete the folder

the camcorder (actually the battery) gets quite warm if used continuously and it will not charge when plugged into the docking station. The indicator light on the camcorder will flash red and it will only charge after it has cool down. The light is a solid red when the battery is charging so this is one of the safety feature that prevents the battery from over-heating. So don't panic when you see the flashing red
Remove your battery for 1 hr and re insert it or try by inserting another battery... Hope this has helped you... Thanks...

There are several ways of converting your tapes to a digital format.
1. By routing it through a DV camcorder with AV-input (these are increasingly rare though. (using firewire).
2. By using a device like this, which converts to DV. (also connects via firewire). http://www.dv247.com/invt/23453
3. By using a device which captures to MPEG2.

The cheapest way is option 3, but it requires a working camcorder. You should purchase a device similar to this: http://www.avforums.com/forums/attachments/camcorders-video-editing/85846d1216145397-camcorder-computer-easycap.jpg

If you don't have your camcorder anymore, or it isn't functioning, you should try to get a second-hand 8mm camcorder with firewire. This way you are able to directly convert your tapes to your pc.
If you can't find a firewire camcorder you could just settle with a good functioning 8mm camcorder but you will have to buy a capture device as mentioned above.
Good luck!

I discovered that what iMovie says I should do doesn't work. In HELP it says to set the camera to OC CAMERA. At least that's the closest I could come with my Sanyo camera to what it says in iMovie's HELP. Anyhow it doesn't work but if I set the camera to CARD READER instead it worked the way I wanted it to. I'm all set now.
