The problem you are experiencing is caused by a bad LCD flex cable and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, Ti's not really a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified technician. For more information about this, please click HERE

You may have to download the softwear from the manufacturer's website.

Take so called data recovery program to handle the issue and see if you can grab some or all of the files back. you may have a try Wondershare Photo Recovery (also recover videos and music under both Windows and Mac OS).

I've seen several inquiries related to that problem. You need to contact JVC to have your unit serviced. That's the only way to get it fixed.
