You can set the camcorder's recording mode to high quality. Please see procedure below:
Press HOME -> settings -> movie settings -> REC MODE -> choose the desired settings
HQ = High quality mode (Best quality) SP - standard quality mode LP - long play mode
I suggest to use the HQ mode then test the issue again.

Is the battery fully charged?
If you connect the camera to the charger same happens?
Try charging the battery or test with a different battery.

Might be, bad conection inside dc hole on camera, when you unplug the dc plug from camera a metal contact inside that hole might not be making a good contact.

You may not be able to.
Most cameras require a stand alone charger for battery charging.
Some models will allow in camera charging via a connecting dock or purpose builtl power cable.
Your camera manual should advise .

Format HDD as format option is available in hdd menu in camcorder and if that does not solve the issue then HDD will be replaced to fix this problem.

DCR-SR47 does not have IEEE1394/ DV link port, since its HardDiskDrive camera so utilize USB port to transfer movie clips files.

As you probably know liquid damage can be serious for electrical items. You don't say if the camcorder just got splashed or was immersed.

First thing is remove the main battery and any coin cell that may be a back up battery. Then place in a warm dry place (airing cupboard) and leave to dry. Try to stand the unit on its battery end.

Then once dried for a few days try it with the battery. Sadly water damage can and does kill the parts inside so professional repair may be your only chance.
