Why is sand showing up
Hi
Please check for the water
inlet hose, the water inlet valve for any blockages. If the hose is
not clogged then check the water inlet valve for any clogs, and also make sure that you are using normal tap water. Hope this helps...
Please post back if you need more information.

Kenmore washing machine fills up and washes but
Hello,
A leading problem that will make the washer not drain is a defective lid switch. To check if that is the problem, open the lid and close it slowly, when it is almost closed you should hear a clicking sound,do this a couple times and if you do not hear the click the lid switch is what i would suspect as the problem.
To me a technician with 30 years experience i think the switch is very easy to replace,i believe with some mechinacal ability you too could replace the switch assambly.
If it turns out to be the switch i have attached a youtube video that will show you step by step how to replace it http://youtu.be/MFsvLiuTniU
Good luck,i hope this will help you to fix your washer,Gene

HI,
IM LEO
MAKE SURE THE HOSES ARE ATTACHED TO THE RIGHT INLET IN THE BACK OF WASHER
PUT EA. HOSE OVER IN THE WASHER AND TURN ON THE WATER TO MAKE SURE EA.
HAS THE RIGHT VOLUME
IF THEY DO THEN YOU KNOW THE WATER IS GETTING TO THE MIXER VALVE
THEN YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE MIXER VALVE. (THAT'S WHAT THEY SCREW ON)
THIS IS THE MOST COMMON SOLUTION. THERE ARE OTHERS THAT ARE A LITTLE MORE COMPLICATED LIKE THE WATER LEVEL SWITCH IN THE CONSOLE.
Thank you for using fixya

The transmission in your washer is going bad. It is not creating enough power to get up to high speed without assistance. I would start looking for a new washer. The transmission is one of main parts for the washer and it will cost over 400 dollars to fix it.
It washes but does not
check the door safety switch , if it is broken, nothing happens,, unplug the machine, locate the connector that plugs into the switch,, and place a jumper wire between the 2 wires,, and tape it up , move the jumper off to the side, and check the machine, If it runs, replace that switch
Wont spin fill or drain i looked at lid switch it
Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. If your washer doesn't drain or spin, you may read and learn what parts may cause this. First, you will want to check your water pump. You need to make sure it is working. Make sure you check the belt on the pump. Make sure it is not broken or loose. Also, make sure your pulley is not stuck in place. Sometimes, they will stick or barely turn at all. If this is the case, you will need to replace it. If the pump, pulley, and belt are working, make sure your motor is working. You should be able to hear it if it is. If it isn't, check your lid switch. The lid switch can cause the motor to not work. It may need adjusted. If not, go ahead and change it. A bad lid switch may cause the washer to not work at all. Now, if your pump is pumping and the washer still won't spin, you will want to check your belt and clutch. Once again, the belt may be broke or loose. Check to make sure your clutch is not worn also. This may be a case of a bad lid switch again as well. You could have a bad drive motor. This is what controls spinning, draining, and agitation. You could have a broken motor coupler. Over time, they will go bad and need replaced. It is possible that your transmission is slipping or damaged. And lastly, you could have a bad basket drive ir spin bearing. This is what allows the inner tub to move. If this is the case, you will probably hear loud sounds or loud banging.
Agitator wont agitate
Thank you for choosing FixYa and welcome. If you have a washer that has a weak agitation or no agitation at all, here are some possible solutions. You need to check your belts. Most washers have one or two belts. Check your lid switch. If a lid switch is bad, it can cause the washer to not work properly. Sometimes, they will not work at all. Make sure you check your drive motor. The drive motor controls the spinning, draining, and agitation. Most washers have the reverse motor, meaning the shaft rotates in both directions, clockwise and counterclockwise. It is possible to lose one direction and not the other. Some washers have a clutch that controls the agitation. If it is bad or worn, it may prevent the agitator to work. Most of these washers come from General Electric. You could have a bad motor coupler. They are located on the side of the motor drive inside the washer. It is also possible that you have a bad transmission. Check the agitator itself. You could have a bad spline or two. The splin accompanies the shaft and allows the movement of the agitator. If you rule out all the parts above, you may have an electrical issue or an issue with the control board. It is very important to test each part and make sure it is getting power. If a part is not working and not getting any power, the power loss may be the reason that it doesn't work. You can test the current in the wires with a voltage meter. Thank you very much for reading this tip and thank you for using Fixya
My kenmore 110 wont agitate
Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. The drive motor controls the spinning and the agitation. You need to check it out. You probably have something broke in it. It may be a coupler. Make sure your belt is not broke though.
Frigidaire Washer/Dryer flse60rgs1 Starts filling
The problem is most likely the float switch or it could be a stuck fill valve. If it is the fill valve, it will stop filling if you unplug the machine.
You can find the parts and diagrams at partselect.com

Agitator is not turning.
These washers have a set of dogs inside them. Over time the facing of each dog wears smooth. The agitator can be repaired easy enough. Use a socket and extension to remove the agitator bolt and yank the agitator out of the machine. Sit it on the floor and hold it down with your feet. Yank the top portion off and replace the dogs. Take care not to break the tabs on the lower agitator when yall snap the two pieces back together.
