How to manually set up the router from Netgear?

To log into a NETGEAR router:
  1. In your Web browser, navigate to the router login page. By default, one or all of the following URLs should work:
    • http://www.routerlogin.net or http://www.routerlogin.com
    • http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1
Note: You can sometimes find the login URL on a sticker on the bottom or back of the router.

  2. Enter the username (admin) and the password.
    • The default password is password, or for older routers, 1234.
    • If you have already changed the default password, use the password you assigned the router. Passwords are case sensitive.
    • If you have already changed the password and do not remember it, you have to reset the router to factory defaults in order to use the default password. Resetting a router to factory defaults erases all changes you have made to the router's configuration files.

Can a mbr624gu be used for anything else other than a 3g modem if you are no longer using a 3g usb device? such as a wireless router or a wireless bridge?

A wireless switch should be possible, try disabling its DHCP service and rely on your internet source for handing IPs to computers. this way your NetGear router is more of a switch than a router. of course, a wire connection between your Netgear router and the internet source is a must.good luck,

Trying to connect a ZTE

Sort of. It looks like Vodafone doesn't want people using routers with this device. You may be able to get around that if your router has the 'spoof mac address' functionality, but I imagine that's against Vodafone's Terms of Service.

I use a vodafone wireless

You need to raise a case with the support section of your ISP, also make sure none of your neighbours are using your internet by password protecting the router login and using the built in WPA encryption.
I hope you found my reply helpful please ask if there is anything else.

Having a compability issue with my Netgear

This is something you need to talk to LG about or look in the LG forums. It is not that the router is incompatible it is most likely the phone protocols. It may be worth talking to your network provider and raising it as an issue.
Have you tried it successfully with any other routers?
Good luck

The firmware dowload will not

You may be trying to flash the NA (or US) firmware on a WW (worldwide) router or vice versa. This router is internationally crippled and Netgear will not do a thing about. I have the NA version and it doesn't connect to 3 Internet as the PDP type set to IP does not work. Firmware is poor and appears to based on ADSL model as there are still hidden bits relating to ADSL.
Anybody else...AVOID!
