I had the same problem.
It's the fault of writer .
So, I suggest you to buy a new writer.

The issue is with your burner. Bet you a cup of coffee (milk and no sugar) that if you replace the unit all of your issues will be sayonara!

While your computer is off, remove the DVD-RW Burner or just unplug the cables connecting it to your computer, then boot up your computer, then shut it down again and reconnect all of the cable connectors, then power on again a wait a couple of minutes. Windows 7 should find the drivers for your burner. If it continues to not load the drivers, then there may be something wrong with the burner itself.

try to run system restore. but if it doesnt work. check the functionality of the drive in safe mode (by pressing f8 when the computer turns on, dont wait for the windows logo to come up, you need to press f8 before the windows logo screen) try to explore whats on the disk and if it works. delete upper and lower filter by following the path. click start, click run, type regedit, hkey local machine/system/currentcontrolset/control/class/4d36e965-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318
if you upper filter and lower filter, delete both. restart th computer and that should do it.

first reinstall the Burning software.. still if it doesnt work.. Update the Firmware of the Drive.. u can locate the drive firmwareon the LG site.. search for the firmware that matches the entire name of the drive.. if its not working after the update then replace the drive..

Optical drives (at least all modern one's) do not require a driver when run in a Windows environment. The OS provides the support automatically. Is the drive shown/listed in My Computer?
