it might be lcd inverter

Have you installed the motherboard sound drivers? My Acers input ports are reversed!  Have you checked your sound settings in Control Panel?

it is beacuse the power suply of dvd drive is good and the data supply is not connected..
take ur lappie to the acer's store to fix it
if u can open the outer cover of the laptop then open it and fix the cable of dvd drive

Did you install the sound driver software ? If no , then you should do that .

If that didn't solve the problem , then I'll tell you what to do :
On the desktop just go to [My computer] and click right mouse and down to [properties ] . On the properties dialogue box just click [system] . on system click on [Device management ] .
There you will find all the devices that are already installed on your system . ((if you can see some of them is marked with {?} question mark , then that means that there is no software for this device is not installed = the device is not working properly )) . any way scroll down until you find the Audio device . Just click right mouse and disable it and reboot your system . After that go back to the same place and right click again and uninstall it . and reboot system again . Now you need to install the software of your Audio driver from the CD or any other source you have it on like flash memory etc .
After installing the software , just reboot again . Now you should hear the starting tone of your system .

Try booting up into safe mode and disable or uninstall any rescent installs.

The ram of the pc is defective you have to replace the ram to resolve the issue,

open your system unit then locate the hard drivel then pull it all the wire that are connected to the hard drive then that's it finish

trbooting up to disk then custom install

Small parts - infact any parts for disc drives are difficult if not impossiblle to get. I use parts from old drives purchased from Boot Sales, Swop Meets, Flea Markets etc. They cost next to nothing.

Check to make sure you don't have anything in your floppy drive. (3.5 drive or 5.25 if really old system).

If you can boot from bootable CD then probably your Hard Drive is not working and all other periferals are OK. If it is making clicking noises then the drive arm or the head is most likely shot and you need a new hard drive.

The one chance you do have is if your Hard Drive just needs to be made bootable again. Load up the XP cd as if you where to reinstall XP but instead goto the recovery console, type "fixmbr" at the command prompt once you have entered the XP logon, its very simple once you get there very well laid out.

It is possible to bypass it if its just the User's password but not the Administrator's Password

on the Logon Screen, Press CTRL+ALT+DEL keys and another Logon Dialog Box will appear, type administrator in the Username Field and press enter without entry any password. You will be logged on if there is no Administrator's Password then Go to Control Panel => User Account, Select the User and unset the password.

Check the Network Connections (in control panel) to see if the LAN connection is enabled. If not there, you'll need to setup a new network connection. If it is there, right-click the connection icon and choose enable.

You can also check the Device Manager to see if the network adapter is listed and working without errors.

This is apparently a Broadcom wireless adaptor. Isuggest you try the broadcom website and download the driver from there

Check the mains plug fuse

If this is all ok, then it is likely to be a faulty power supply. These can be bought for around 40-60 GBP and are reasonably easy to fit.

Un-install and re-install the programs. This should fix your problem.
