Maybe it cause a too tied belt.

The water pump could be stuck, or broken so the pulley on the pump is not spinning, while the belt is, which gives you the burning smell. Could also mean the motor is overheating giving you the burning smell. You will have to open the back and observe whats happening while its running. Just keep your hands clear while its working.

You'll need to find some one who can read the wiring diagram.
The best bet would be to call a repairer who specialises in your brand..
I've had to walk away from jobs which some one else has started, so don't say that someone has started to 'fix' it or they may refuse to work on it.

Good luck

Correct the wiring. Manuals are available on line. You need to get somebody that can read the diagram.

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

I don't know where you have your washing machine but can't you just put the drain hose in the tub, or toilet to see if it drains? if either of those aren't close enough to dump discharge water into from your spin cycle, you may be able to add a short piece of clear tubing at the end of the existing hose using whatever connector you need to use, then put the hose back into your drain. This way you should be able to see if the pump is working. You can usually hear/feel water being discharged out of the discharge hose but I don't know what your situation is.
