Not heating

Hi

Things that could stop a electric dryer from heating:
  • house fuse or breaker ( needs two of them )
  • heating element, burnt wire
  • thermostat(s), thermal fuse ( not all models ),
  • motor heat switch, timer, selector switch,
  • burnt power cord/plug.
You can check these things using an ohmmeter/multimeter from here.

Things that could stop a gas dryer from heating:

  • glow bar igniter,
  • thermal fuse ( not all models ),
  • coils on the gas valve, gas valve, thermostats,
  • motor heat switch, timer, selector switch, sensor.

A page for checking gas dryers is here.

My dryer still heats up when the dryer is not running

The heating element might be shorted to ground. This sometimes happens if the vent pipe is clogged with lint. The heater gets hotter than normal causing the heating coils to sag, touching the metal shield.

Have kenmore elec dryer. model

The dryer overheating had blown the thermal fuse.

Check if the vent is working, and if the outside of the vent is blocked.

If the vent is fine you need to check if the heating element is grounded to the canister or the bracket, this will cause the element not turning off.
To check if the element is grounded, turn the dryer to timed dry, and do not start the dryer.
Open the door and watch the rear left side and check if the element is on and heating , if it is on and motor is not running then element has a contact to ground.
The cycling thermostat can also be cause of the problem and must be tested.

You can find all replacements here.

Cant figure out how the belt tensoner works to

There are 2 slots underneath the motor pulley.
The flat part of the tensioner goues in these slots.
The roller wheel will then be on your left.
With the belt around the drum, run the belt under the wheel and through the tensioner, then over the motor pulley.

Show me how the belt should be run

Stick the idler in the floorboard, even with the motor pulley and have the idler wheel facing to the left of that motor pulley. Insert the non twisted belt into the idler between the cheapass metal idler pulley mount(have yer woman hold that drum up, make her proud to assist) and now yank back on the idler good nuff to get that belt looped over that motor pully. Then let that idler go so the tenshun on dat boy cause dat belt to stay all propah on dat pulley. Replace that front panel. 05cc3f4.jpg

Kenmore model number 110-66912692

It is fairly simple .The older style you yank the knob straight off and get the hex head screws out (2) The newer style you release a locking tab in the rear and twist the timer 1/4th a turn. So easy you won't believe it. If you need further help, reach me via phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/dan_73bbd84fe1d95b61

My kenmore elite dryer mod.11067062600 is showing f-2 code

The F-02 fault code indicates a stuck button on the user interface control board or a user interface mismatch. This fault code is normally displayed only from the diagnostic test mode. If the wire harness connection between the user interface and the machine control board are okay, then replacement of the user interface control board is usually necessary when this code appears. If you are able to safely access the components in the console of your dryer, you may be able to diagnose and repair this problem yourself. Follow the steps to access the user interface in your dryer. Check the wire harness connections. If the wire harness connections are okay, reassemble the dryer and check for normal operation. If you have a stuck button or bad interface, replace the interface board

Electric cord

What you should get is a new 4 wire cord. It is way less complicated than trying to change out the wall receptacle.
On a 4 wire dryer cord you have White(common) in the middle. Red and Black are hot and go on either side of white. If you really want to make it look good you can put red to red on the terminal and black to black but you don't have to. Some dryers may not have those color hot wires. Green hooks to the chassis with a green screw or any screw connected directly to the frame.
