Go outside, get a clear view of the sky to acquire a signal. Then try rebooting/reset the unit.

Sounds to me like it's a software update failure. Try reloading the Software Update.

Try checking if the charger is still working. There should be a light on it if it's obtaining power from the lighter port. On some vehicles you need to switch on the car to power up the lighter port. If it's broken, buy a new charger.

Sounds to me like it's a software issue. Let me guess, it says "Unit needs to be restarted to improve performance" then it shuts down and restarts, and cycles again. SOLUTION: Try updating your software, it's free. call magellan tech support, they'll walk you through.

turn on your 1210 once it boots to the magellan screen press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds, once it shuts off, power it back on by pressing and holding the power button for up to ten seconds then let it load.


if that fails,power it up and try the reset button, (either on the bottom or on the side)the little pinhole, and use a paper clip to depress the reset
button.

It is indicating that you need to connect it to your pc to reinstall the satnav program. You should have a cd that came with it use that to reinstall the software on your roadmate

Hi, down load them back on to pc from the web site,then connect gps to down load from pc,all the best.

It sounds very much as if the battery is on its last legs. I'm not familiar with the model but if you have a look at the back you may find some screws which hold the back in place. Removing these should allow you to get to the battery. This may be just slotted in or possibly soldered in place. I've just searched online for "Magellan roadmate battery replacement" and got at least 7 solid hits for method and 5 for sources of replacements. Give it a try.
