Nikon COOLPIX L101 Digital Camera Questions & Answers
Which batteries can you recommend, I am using
You don't mention the rating of your rechargeables- this can vary a lot. Some have twice the puff of others. The rating is not always prominently marked, but should be on the battery somewhere.
NiMH batteries with a capacity of 2700mAH or more are available, and these will obviously last longer per charge than those rated 1600mAH or so. However, all things come to an end, and while Ni-MH cells are supposed to be rechargeable hundreds of times under ideal conditions, in real life they will lose a bit of capacity every time until they become a bit short of puff.
Night Photography NIKON digital cam.
Wait until the sun goes down.
In many ways night photography is just like day photography, except there's less light. With less light, you need a slower shutter speed, a wider aperture, a faster ISO, or a combination of all three. Or else you need to add light.
Just like day photography, the best camera settings (and other things) depend on what you want the photograph to say to the viewer.
You can add light by using the flash, car headlights, etc. The flash doesn't have much range; if you're sitting in the stands at a night sporting event your flash isn't going to affect any pictures you take of the action on the field. Another effect of the short range is that if you take a flash picture of a person at night, you're likely to have an almost completely black background. If you want something of the background to show, use the Night Portrait mode (and a tripod).
If you want to take a picture of a night landscape (or the night sky, with star trails) then turn off the flash. Put the camera on a tripod or other steady support and use a slow shutter speed.
If you're taking a picture of the full moon, then it's not night photography at all. The full moon is just a big rock under a midday sun, so treat it as such.

My Nikon b500 Coolpix won't turn on just flashes green
It flashes green when it is basically on but in a sub mode that I'll call CHARGE MODE. If it is flashing that means the battery is charging. I suggest to let it continue to charge until it stops flashing and then remove the charger connection. When the camera is sitting all by itself with nothing connected you can then turn it on.
The screen on my Coolpix 500 looks like a chemical was poured on it. It is not scratched, what can I do
Is it the screen, or the screen protector ? If the latter, just remove it and replace it. If it is the actual screen, first of all try a lint-free cloth barely dampened with distilled water, and test it on a corner, see if that works. On no account get the camera wet. If that is unsuccessful, try adding a very little diluted washing-up liquid, and try again. Should that not succeed, I would advise taking the camera to your local repair facility for their expert advice.
MY NIKON COOLPIX S 3000 DIGITAL CAMERA WONT DO ANYTHING AT ALL
Hi
Here are some suggestions to try and see where the problem may be:
1. Have you tried to charge the battery? We would suggest trying different USB sources (e.g. a USB port on a computer as well as the Nikon supplied AC adapter)
2. Could the battery be dead? If you have tried to charge the battery in the camera via USB then there is a chance the battery is dead and needs replacing. If the camera had not been used for a long time and the battery was stored with little or no charge, the battery may now be un-chargeable.
3. If the camera has been left unused for a long time the internal battery that keeps the time/date may have discharged. You need to be able to set the time/date before the battery can be charged. If you plug the camera into a USB power source and you can see the menu on the LCD then set the date/time.
We hope these suggestions help to get the camera back up and running
