Incomplete transmission error report on my mx450
Is this a new problem with a new printer, or did faxes used to work okay until now?
Incomplete transmission means fax could not be sent. Many causes.
1. Error on recipient's end or in phone line (fax machine down, too much line noise, etc.)
2. Bad phone cord or bad phone jack on your end.
3. Make sure the phone cord from the wall is securely plugged into the right telephone port on the printer. There are 2 jacks; the important one is lableled "
L" for telephone
Line In. The other port (with a telephone symbol next to it) is optional, and is to connect to a telephone (only works if you have a phone line already plugged into :L" port).
4.

I am having a problem with the fax option. I keep
One thing I'd check and I hope I don't send you down a rabbit hole. Do you have DSL on the same line and did you put the filter on the line to the fax. It Needs It it is like phone and it will not work properly with NO filter on it. It hears the DSL as static and thinks it does not have a clear line.
I hope I helped.

Attempting to print to a Canon MX860 remotely
Change the scale in the print options. The print options can be seen when you start to print something. There will be an option asking "print to scale"...select that and you should be fine.

Override empty ink tank on Canon PIXMA MX860
The title of this topic is for the MX860. It has no "RESUME" button, so the advice submitted by cene765 does not work. But there is a solution. The MX860 has two black ink cartridges--one small (like the colored ones) and one large. So, you will run out of colored ink way before you run out of black. I found that by selecting the "Gray scale" printing option, I could still print with color cartridges being very low. Even when the printer told me that the color cartridges were empty, I could still print by clicking the "OK" button. However, this does not last. Eventually, the printer will flag the color cartridges with an alarm. When that happens, the printer stops working, freezing at the alarm until you replace the cartridge. However, you can still print. What you need to do is press and hold the STOP button for a few moments. The alarm will be released and then you let go of the button. Printing can resume. This happened to me where the alarm was triggered by the cyan cartridge, before I could even try to print. When I used the STOP button bypass, printing started but was then flagged by the magenta cartridge. I thought for sure that pressing STOP while in the middle of starting the print cycle would abort it, but thankfully it did not--the alarm was cleared and printing resumed.
I am trying to fax, but I keep getting a "busy"
Make sure you have pluuged the telephone line lead into the "LINE" socket and not the "TEL" socket of the fax machine. I reckon thats why you are not dialling out correctly. If this is in an office, make sure you are dialling the access number for an outside line, usually a 9 before the phone number.
I replaced a new cartridge to my printer and now
Canon PIXMA MX860. Turn it off. Open it and check if the black ink leaked inside most especially on the cartridge panel. Clean there using surgical spirit or petrol using a cloth.
Fit the cartridges in their actual point (Black and Color). Connect its power and USB cables and then switch on. This should work for you.
We have mx 860 and there is no pdf option for scanning to. how do we get that option?
If from the MX860 you have proceeded through the scan menu and selected your computer, and you don't see PDF as an option, you will need to re-install your PDF software onto your computer. This will most likely solve the problem. If this does not work, you may want to try cycling of your PC and the Printer. If this does not work, you should also re-install or update the MX860 software.
Fax error message = TX cancelled:RX fax info
Two Issues:
1. The Transmission Speed of the MX860 may be too fast.
Solution: on FAX Menu go to Settings>Device Settings>FAX Settings>Transmission Settings >"TX start speed" and change to 14400 or lower (14400 worked for me).
2. The recipient FAX machine may be receiving by a different number than the one you dial. This may occur if you dial a free-calling no.
Solution: Go to Transmission Settings as above>"Check RX fax info" and turn it to OFF. This disables the mismatch issue.
Hope this helps. aknz
