A restriction code is numeric code (password) that prevents a user from accessing certain technical settings of a phone. It is specifically designed to prevent a phone from being reprogrammed to work with a different carrier (service provider).

This is what is usually meant when a phone is referred to as "locked". There are also "unlocked" phones that can be reprogrammed to work with a different carrier.

the best way to get the unlock code for your phone,is to contact your service provider and request for the unlock code of your phone which will be given to you for free,but you have to prove to them that the phone really belongs to you.

They (and only them) can provide you with thte PUK Code..
