Usually when touch screens don't work, it is due to water damage. You can bring your phone to your carrier's nearest store and ask someone that works there to check if your phone suffered water damage. They'll check the inside of your phone. If that's the case, you'll probably have to buy a new one. If you're insured this shouldnt be TOO expensive. But if you bring it to the store and it's NOT water damage, they should replace the phone for free!

It could be two problems. One, the volume on the phone is turned down and has to be turned up manually. Two, the cell phone needs to be replaced. Usually you can work out a deal with your cell phone provider on getting a replacement or a new one. Best bet is to take it to your nearest cell phone service center or dealer.

After a bit of research I understand that the phone uses a Capacitive touchscreen technology. Wiki this and you will find that the plastic strip attached to the underneath of the front cover of the phone (with its circuit ribbon that connects to the main circuit board of the phone) has a sticky substance holding it air tight to the underside of the front cover. This sticky substance is Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) and conducts a continuous electrical current accross to the sensor. So if you have bought a new cover from ebay etc like I have and replaced the new cover with the old scratched one, you need to get yourself some ITO sputtered onto the screen to make its capacitive touchscreen technology work again.... hope this is a more technical answer than some of the idiots that post unhelpful solutions to questions(solution 1

these are your options: while on call, select the number you wish to call from your phonebook, touch the contact on the screen, then press send. To switch between calls, press send key (the picture of the phone), touch and select swap calls.
the second option is to make conference calls, the number of persons in the conference call is 5. But this is network dependent. (check with your provider if they support this service). You can do this, by entering the number you wish to call or from your phonebook. Then press the send key (logo of the phone down). When the second call is connected, the first call is automatically put on hold. You can swap between calls by pressing the send key. To join the calls, touch the notepad logo, then select join calls sub option from the conference call menu.

hi there my lg gr500r receives messages calls and all but it wont let me reply by sms text message. ive turned it off and on and taken out the batt but it still wont send out messages. on my message settings i go into message centre number and it is blank. dont know why... but i dont know how to input the message centre number. is there a key on the keypad that i have to push in order for me to input the number coz it wont let me dail it in? thank you

simpliest way is to link it to your pc if you have the software suite. if not you need to bring it into your service provider and they can do it for you! let me know if this helped!

the phone should be covered by a 12 mnth warranty ..get it replaced by your provider

did you get it wet? if so try leaving it near a heat source for a week. like an oven, dashboard of car.... I have dropped my phone in the toilet and brought it back from the dead.

A request for a PUK code ("Personal Unlocking Key") will appear on your phone if your SIM card PIN code is entered 3 consecutive times incorrectly.

Your SIM card will then become "PUKed" or Blocked. This is a security measure to protect your service.

Your phone will ask for PUK code when you entered the PIN code wrongly several times depending upon the mobile make. The mobile asks for PUK code so that unauthorized persons do not use your mobile for wrong cause.

To get PUK code please contact your service provider through phone or go directly to their office. They will provide you the PUK code for your mobile. The PUK code is unique for each mobile phone model.so that you can open your phone. When you planning to call your service provider you cannot use your mobile as it is fully locked. Please use some other mobile with same network to call your service provider.

This PUK code prevents thieves from being able to make use of stolen handsets, that is why it can only be given by the service provider only.

did you check the battery. in most cases faulty batteries causes switching off. anyway this is a new phone and i guess you have warranty - please contact your dealer or lg service for free repair!
