How do I hook up

Hi, There are two ways you can connect it up. You have a TRS (Tip Ring Sleeve) monitor output that could be patched into the inputs of any analog mixer, balanced high level inputs.
You also have a S/PDIF stereo out. If a digital mixer doesn't accept S/PDIF you can get a converter to change S/PDIF to an AES, which any pro digital mixer will work with. I think HOSA has one for about $60.00, you might find something on Ebay as well.
Here is a Link to the TASCAM Spec page for you FW-1082

I hope this helps,
Best Regards,

Recorder button flashes but does

http://tascam.com/support/downloads/
This is the support site, so you either look for the manual and download it after you locate the exact model ..or write them and describe the problem and they will advice you what you have to do ..
Good Luck ..
I think that when is flashing it is in stand by for ...mode..and if you press it again it will actually record..or you have to make certain settings ,,like the size and name of the file to be recorded..

I have a Tascam 424 mkIII that I just got in the

You may have a bad impedance matching situation. Check the level at the headphone jack for starters. If that seems low, there is a problem with the playback amp, which may be the same as the record amp in that model, I'm not sure. The switching mechanism that flips the amp from record to play may be hanging up. Start with the headphones. If that's good, your impedance match is way off, or you simply are using a bad cable, as it feeds from the same amp as the outputs in most cases.
