MANUAL OPERATION
• HOLD TEMPERATURE — With the SYSTEM switch set to
HEAT or COOL, momentarily press HOLD button. HOLD
will be displayed. Use UP or DOWN to adjust the temperature.
The thermostat will hold the room temperature at the
selected setting until you press RUN button to return to
program operation.

BE absolutely sure the batteries are good. This is what usually causes this symptom, even it the 'battery indicator' isn't asking for a new battery. It happens a lot on systems that are being turned off with the breaker, safety or service switch; DON'T do that. When you put a set of brand new alkaline or lithium batteries, with the thermostat off the wall, leave NO batteries in it for about an hour. Be sure that the power is on 24/7 to the system. To stop the system from running, always use the "Heat--Off--Cool" switch.

Press and hold the filter button for 15-20 seconds to clear filter notification. Some programmable models allow you to change the interval of the filter notice. This is only a filter check reminder for a set period of time, it does not indicate the filter condition at all, just to remind you to look at the filter to see if it needs replacement or cleaning.

Jim,Your thermostat has served you well and has earned its retirement! I could be a number of things from dusty contact to crack in the little curcuit board. In any case, not worth the frustration. A couple things to consider: If you are due for the furnace or boilers annual tune-up, discuss this with the technician. Sometimes they have discontinued units "kicking around" that are perfectly functional and MAYgive you a deal. In addition, (not knowing the complexity of your system heating AND cooling/baseboard or warm air, fuel type etc.) or your mechanical savvy, some t-stats can be quite daunting when faced several wire color combo and function options. This is also another good reason to consult your heating technician. A decent technician will not only encourage you to DIY if its an easy job, but also SHOW you why it isn't...not just babble techtalk at you. As far as the paint line problem, you can loosen the base plate of the t-stat and paint under it, or you can buy plates/rings to cover this at your local big box hardware in the heating aisle. Does the display seem a little dim? If so replace the batteries. Anything else may be a furnace issue not the thermostat. Look at the furnace and see if you can view any error codes on the circuit board

If this is new, check and see if any of the wires are touching each other. It could be your furnace. But 1st I would change out the thermostat. Thaey are $30 to $70 and it takes about 5 minutes to change one out.

follow this guide:
Diagnostic: Set SYSTEM Switch to HEAT and raise
the setpoint above room temperature. Within a few
seconds the thermostat should make a soft click
sound. This sound usually indicates the thermostat
is operating properly. If the thermostat does not
click, try the reset operation. If the thermostat does not click after being reset contact your heating and cooling service person or place of purchase for a replacement. If the thermostat clicks, contact the furnace manufacturer or a service person to verify the heating is operating correctly.

did you install battery

did you change the battery on the thermostat.

Hi. This is Aaron Moratalla from White Rodgers. For 1F78-151, "WE" means Wednesday. If left side temperature is stuck at 67F and there's no Hot air coming out then try ressting your thermostat by:1. set system to Heat mode2. press simultaneously the Up, Down arrows and Time button for 2sec.3. the screen should blank out momentarily then show 62F in the right side.4. set a higher temperature in the right side than the left side of LCD to have a call for heat. My Name is Joselito Laxamana from technical department.- Check the wires on the terminals make sure that they are not loose- Reset the unit by press time, up and down buttons make sure the systems is in on position.- Set the system to heat then and raise the setpoint above room temperature. There may be up to five minute delay before the thermostat clicks in heating If the thermostat click this means its not a thermostat you have a problem with your heating equipment call your installer. If the thermostat did not click the unit should be replaced. Let me know if you need anything else.
