Why does my smoke alarms not all go off when I push test button?
I am assuming that your detectors are interconnected to all sound at the same time.
Pushing the test button is not the same electrically as an alarm activation.
The Kiddie manual does not mention the sequence of operations when the test button is pressed. You may want to contact Kiddie to find out if this is ok.
You can also test your detector with smoke to see if they all sound like they are supposed to.

Human hearing is not really all that great, especially directionally. Look for the sound to be coming from some other place and bouncing. Check for plug-in CO detectors as they are often the culprit. Try using tape to muffle the sound ports until you find the correct device. Good luck!

Have you tried a different battery? Occasionally a battery can read good but die under load. Also use care when replacing the battery. Many devices today specify in small print to leave the battery out for a minimum time period (anywhere from about 15 sec to 5 min, depending on the model). Also, it is sometimes quite easy to reverse the polarity on some of these devices. If all else fails, contact the manufacturer. It's possible the unit itself is bad.

This happened to me, my smoke detector started chipping so I changed the batteries. A few seconds later it started chirping again. The answer is in the way you put the batteries in. It's probably got a lot of dust and lint in the sensor, that's trapping the heat, when your furnace is on.
Remove the cover and clean the interior of the unit with canned compressed air that has a straw nozzle (like you clean your computer with). That should solve the problem Remember to clean your smoke alarm(s) semiannually.

They simply may need cleaning, due to a dust, lint or spider buildup in the sensors. You can accomplish this by using canned compressed air (like you clean your computer with) Attach the straw nozzle to the canned air, remove the detector cover(s) and with short bursts of air, clean the interior of the detector. When that's completed, blow out the detector cover. Before, your replace the cover, you should change the backup battery(s) in all the units, if it's been a year, since you last did it
Doing the above should solve your alarming problem..
