I have the Philips 22PFL3504D
Between troubleshooting and fixing your TV,it would most likely pay for a new one.1 suggestion I do have is to purchase a Belkin surge protector or some other brand which has a monetary guarantee. The $5 so-called 'surge protectors' which are everywhere should not even be able to claim that. They are just basically an extension cord with more outlets and I have never had one survive lightning. My computer fried last year and I found better ones by researching it.The money guarantee does not require receipts either,at least by Belkin.A 6 outlet surge suppresor starts at $50,000 worth of equipment they will replace for you and costs maybe $20.With a guarantee like that,I know this thing was built to work. There are supposed to be some good deals this coming holiday season,so if you are in a position to buy one you are much better off.Also,1 thing to look for is a TV with a dynamic contrast ratio of between 60,000:1 and 150,000:1.Anything above or below that is either worse or unnecessary. Also 1080p but everything should be rated that now.The better brands are LG,Samsung,Vizio,Philips, and perhaps Panasonic. The cheaper ones are Olevia,Akai, and other somewhat unknown brands. They are cheaper because they are junk.I see many problems on here with less than 2 year old TV's from those brands.I realize you would like to fix it,but money-wise,with a lightning strike could easily cost more than the original price of the TV.Also, with the fuse blowing instantly, there is a short causing a power surge and easily could be almost everything within it,including the screen.I realize that all I said was buy a new one,but I would if it was me because I know how the shops operate. There is always a minimum parts price markup of 20%,then labor, then housecall. If a board costs them $400,you get charged $500@ 20% and some go higher. If the screen ends up bad,etc.,etc.Wish I had more and I am sorry you end up paying for this answer but I read the terms on this site and it is no refund policy. If you persist, they may do something, unsure.Worth a shot.Sorry and good luck,Greg :(
