What does the f1 message mean?

this is your part, and f1 code is the board. Always visually inspect the bad part though before ordering but this should fix ya.......good luck..

Electronic control:
http://www.repairclinic.com/referral.asp?R=154&P=496226

  • You have either a bad ERC (clock) or a bad touch pad.

    1. Disconnect power to stove
    2. Gain access to the back of the clock (electronic range control or ERC).
    3. Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire apx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide.
    4. Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back on.
    5. Turn power back on to stove.
    6. Watch for the F1 and listen for the beep.
    7. If you get the F1 and beep, replace the ERC.
    8. If after apx. 30 minutes you do NOT get the F1 and hear the beep, replace the touch pad.
NOTE: Some models incorporate the touch pad and the clock as one part.

How do i light the pilot for the oven

MOST modern appliances that use gas ignition (including dryers) no longer use a pilot. These appliances are now equipped with a burner assembly with an electric igniter. The following link explains igniters and how to access the them on a gas range:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r401858-replacing_oven_igniter_gas_range

If you are having ignition problems with one of the oven manifolds (bake or broil), it may be a simple matter of a weak or bad igniter. If BOTH manifolds are experiencing the same problem, you may have a bad regulator or electronic oven control (EOC) board. The EOC controls all your oven features.

The surface burners use an electrode type igniter for ignition. There is one mounted next to each surface burner assembly. They get their electric source from a spark module. If none of the surface igniters are working, you may have a bad spark module. If one single burner is not igniting, the problem is probably the electrode.

If you require additional assistance, please post back with your model number so that I may assist you better. The model number should be located on a name plate around the oven door, or lower drawer opening. Some manufacturers place the model number on the back of the operator console.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this is helpful to you.

Burners don't receive gas though oven/broiler does

tommi, this model has a cooktop lock-out solenoid feature. Try pressing and holding the top light keypad for 5 seconds and see if the top comes back to life. If not, check your owners manual, it may be a different key. The lock-out solenoid is in the back behind the outer panel. The cooktop lockout valve has been redesigned from a AC to DC voltage because of complaints of chattering. The new part number is 8184768. Lets hope you don't need it and just have the top locked out.

Control Panel Display Reading

mommaT, the code has to do with the keypad, key held down too long or stuck or shorted keypad. Have someone remove the key pad ribbon cable from the control board and clean the ends with an eraser. If that doesn't do it, you may need a new keypad. Catriver..post back

How do I cancel a delayed start when trying to use self clean on Kenmore oven 807189701 Rev B

Unplug the power and cancel it. Never Ever use the self clean feature. We see damage here every couple of weeks. The worst was a burned control board on an oven that all parts were obsolete, so the self clean cost a thousand bucks! Self-cleaning ovens bring the heat so you don't have to spend hours scrubbing. Traditional self-cleaning cycles heat the oven between 800°F and 900°F, helping turn soil and spills to a powdery ash you can then wipe away. They utilize only heat-no chemicals-and are built to withstand high temperatures. (Says Maytag who love selling elements, door locks and other parts),

Problem with kenmore elite gas range. Oven will not heat

It sounds like you may have a problem with the gas valve or the igniter in your Kenmore Elite gas range. The gas valve controls the flow of gas to the burner, and the igniter provides the spark to light the gas. If the glow plug is coming on but the gas is not igniting, it could be a problem with the igniter itself or the gas valve. The igniter may not be producing a strong enough spark to light the gas, or the gas valve may be clogged or malfunctioning, preventing the gas from flowing properly. You may want to have a professional technician take a look at your range to diagnose and fix the problem. It is important to have any gas appliance serviced by a qualified technician to ensure safe operation.

Kenmore gas range slow to preheat, takes 1 hour to get to temp.

There are several potential causes for a gas range being slow to preheat. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check the igniter: While the igniter may be coming on, it may not be getting hot enough to ignite the gas. Make sure the igniter is clean and free from any debris or corrosion. If it is dirty, gently clean it with a soft cloth. If the igniter is damaged or not getting hot enough, it may need to be replaced.
  2. Check the gas supply: Make sure that the gas supply is turned on and that the gas pressure is sufficient. If the gas pressure is too low, the oven may take longer to preheat.
  3. Check the oven temperature sensor: A faulty temperature sensor can cause the oven to take longer to preheat. Use a multimeter to test the sensor for continuity. If it is not working properly, it may need to be replaced.
  4. Check the oven door seal: A faulty oven door seal can cause heat to escape, making it difficult for the oven to reach the desired temperature. Inspect the seal for any cracks or gaps, and replace it if necessary.
  5. Check the oven igniter safety valve: The igniter safety valve is responsible for regulating the flow of gas to the oven. If it is faulty, it may be restricting the flow of gas, causing the oven to take longer to preheat.
If you are uncomfortable performing any of these troubleshooting steps yourself, it is best to contact a qualified appliance repair technician for assistance.

30" Kenmore gas range door is locked and can not be opened.

If your Kenmore gas range door is locked and cannot be opened, try the following steps:
  1. Check the control panel for any error messages or fault codes. If there are any, try to clear them by unplugging the range for a few minutes and plugging it back in.
  2. Check if the oven is in self-cleaning mode. If it is, the door will automatically lock and will not open until the self-cleaning cycle is complete. Wait for the cycle to finish and the oven to cool down before attempting to open the door.
  3. Try resetting the door latch. Turn off the power to the range for at least 30 seconds, then turn it back on. Press and hold the "Clear/Off" button for three seconds. This should reset the door latch and allow you to open the door.
  4. If none of the above steps work, it's possible that the door latch or locking mechanism is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced. In this case, it's best to contact a qualified technician to diagnose and repair the issue.
