Oven makes clicking sounds but

What you are most likely hearing is the relay for the ignitor turning on and off. As far as it not lighting, the ignitor needs to draw at least 3 amps or the safety valve will not allow gas to flow. The Ignitor is going to be under the removable bottom tray and also a heat spreader. The ignitor is a ceramic block with 2 wires coming from one end and a flat carbon 'coil' from the other, an it will attached by a metal bracket.

Your will need a clamp type AC amp meter to check for current. If it pulls less than 3 amps when trying to light, the ignitor is bad and will need replaced. If it pulls more than 3 amps, you most likely have a bad safety valve.

The ignitors run $10-20 usually, but the safety valves can run anywhere from $50 to a couple hundred.

Hope this helps.

I can't find my model number on my Sears Kenmore

Hi,

The tag with the model number is usually located on the rail that is visible with the lower drawer open.

The code you are getting is an indication that the oven got too hot or the control thinks the oven got too hot. It is usually do to one of two parts that have failed.

If the oven did not get too hot and you got the failure code, then the sensor would be bad.

If the oven did get too hot then the ERC (electronic range control) is bad.

Oven igniter is always needing repair.

Hi,
Check to make sure that the flame is not hitting the ignitor too hard, too much heat is not good. Also do you have excessive vibration in or around the house? These are sensitive to vibrations that can crack them. Make sure that there is no condensation or wtaer dropping on the ignitor...
And yes they often only lasst a couple of years in great situations...:-(

Bottom oven burner will not light

If your Kenmore is like most Whirlpool-built gas ranges, surface ignitors similar to those used in gas dryers are used. These devices have a conductive path fused to a ceramic substrate and are common failures. There are separate units for bake and broil burners.
Check the Sears website under the 'Parts' subsection and enter your range model number. This should bring up a choice of things to do and if you ask for the illustrated parts breakdown, you can see where the ignitor is located, get its part number, and generally order from that same site.
It's mildly disturbing that the range continues to allow gas to flow unignited.

How do I cancel a delayed start when trying to use self clean on Kenmore oven 807189701 Rev B

Unplug the power and cancel it. Never Ever use the self clean feature. We see damage here every couple of weeks. The worst was a burned control board on an oven that all parts were obsolete, so the self clean cost a thousand bucks! Self-cleaning ovens bring the heat so you don't have to spend hours scrubbing. Traditional self-cleaning cycles heat the oven between 800°F and 900°F, helping turn soil and spills to a powdery ash you can then wipe away. They utilize only heat-no chemicals-and are built to withstand high temperatures. (Says Maytag who love selling elements, door locks and other parts),

Problem with kenmore elite gas range. Oven will not heat

It sounds like you may have a problem with the gas valve or the igniter in your Kenmore Elite gas range. The gas valve controls the flow of gas to the burner, and the igniter provides the spark to light the gas. If the glow plug is coming on but the gas is not igniting, it could be a problem with the igniter itself or the gas valve. The igniter may not be producing a strong enough spark to light the gas, or the gas valve may be clogged or malfunctioning, preventing the gas from flowing properly. You may want to have a professional technician take a look at your range to diagnose and fix the problem. It is important to have any gas appliance serviced by a qualified technician to ensure safe operation.

Kenmore gas range slow to preheat, takes 1 hour to get to temp.

There are several potential causes for a gas range being slow to preheat. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check the igniter: While the igniter may be coming on, it may not be getting hot enough to ignite the gas. Make sure the igniter is clean and free from any debris or corrosion. If it is dirty, gently clean it with a soft cloth. If the igniter is damaged or not getting hot enough, it may need to be replaced.
  2. Check the gas supply: Make sure that the gas supply is turned on and that the gas pressure is sufficient. If the gas pressure is too low, the oven may take longer to preheat.
  3. Check the oven temperature sensor: A faulty temperature sensor can cause the oven to take longer to preheat. Use a multimeter to test the sensor for continuity. If it is not working properly, it may need to be replaced.
  4. Check the oven door seal: A faulty oven door seal can cause heat to escape, making it difficult for the oven to reach the desired temperature. Inspect the seal for any cracks or gaps, and replace it if necessary.
  5. Check the oven igniter safety valve: The igniter safety valve is responsible for regulating the flow of gas to the oven. If it is faulty, it may be restricting the flow of gas, causing the oven to take longer to preheat.
If you are uncomfortable performing any of these troubleshooting steps yourself, it is best to contact a qualified appliance repair technician for assistance.

30" Kenmore gas range door is locked and can not be opened.

If your Kenmore gas range door is locked and cannot be opened, try the following steps:
  1. Check the control panel for any error messages or fault codes. If there are any, try to clear them by unplugging the range for a few minutes and plugging it back in.
  2. Check if the oven is in self-cleaning mode. If it is, the door will automatically lock and will not open until the self-cleaning cycle is complete. Wait for the cycle to finish and the oven to cool down before attempting to open the door.
  3. Try resetting the door latch. Turn off the power to the range for at least 30 seconds, then turn it back on. Press and hold the "Clear/Off" button for three seconds. This should reset the door latch and allow you to open the door.
  4. If none of the above steps work, it's possible that the door latch or locking mechanism is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced. In this case, it's best to contact a qualified technician to diagnose and repair the issue.
