From memory, they are heat sensors. If there is nothing on the element, it wont allow it to get to full heat.??

press and hold the "Stop/Clear" button for three seconds

If the heating element will fit into the plug socket, the voltage etc. should work out. Same thing if it's wired in.

Unfortunately it'll have to be replaced, buy a used one from a local appliance shop or on eBay, just search for your make/model number & "touch pad", they're not too much and fairly easy to change!

I would definitely have an electrician come out and check your wiring, fuse box, etc.

If it has a thermal fuse, it would be located on back wall of unit behind metal panel.

Ya there is there are fuses in the Kenmore mark 1 . It's an older stove and there located above the knobs to turn burners on if you pop the top open

This could be caused by 1 of 3 things. A weak igniter: test the resistance. A weak temperature sensor: test the resistance and/or the main board. I hope this helps.

This means that your door latch is working slowly or binding. This could be an issue the next time you use the self clean feature and the door not unlock or the door not lock and the self clean will not work.

Most likely the control / clock needs replacing

If bake element is good and installed correctly, then control / clock is most likely bad

This is the self cleaning lock latch. I inherited the same stove the same way - came with the little 100-year-old cottage we just bought. Fortunately the owners manual was in the bottom warmer drawer. Here is what it says on one of the back pages, talking about the self-cleaning feature: “If the door latch finger should become positioned so as to prevent the oven door from closing completely, this condition can be corrected as follows: a. Make sure oven is cool. b. Open oven door, turn Oven Selector switch to CLEAN, push in oven door light switch button (switch is located at right top oven door opening) and hold button in for approximately 15 seconds. c. Next, turn Oven Selector to OFF and again push in the oven door switch for approximately 15 seconds. The latch finger, being motor driven, will rotate so the oven door may be properly closed.”

Check oven sensor. Should read 1080 ohms at room temperature

Check wiring and voltage to unit.

Maybe bad bake element or defective clock / control.
