Kenmore 96422 / 96424 / 96429 Electric Kitchen Range - Page 6 Questions & Answers
Why does the terminal block keep melting on my kenmore range left front burner.
Brother Jeff, this happens all the time because the connections are not perfect, causing arcing at the point around the connection. This arcing makes for excessive heat and melts the block. I replaced the connections on my Mothers stove top with crimped connectors and it lasted a lot longer. They didn't burn out any more, she just needs a new stove. So your best bet is to use crimp on connectors instead of the OEM block that's melting from a loos connection.
KENMORE ELECTRIC RANGE gives me an F13 message when I try to turn on.
The F13 message generally indicates a communication problem with the EEPROM and logic chip in the control board. The checksum/identification is not the expected value. Try unplugging the range (or turning it off at the circuit breaker). Wait a few minutes before returning power to the range. If the F13 error recurs, the electronic oven control (EOC/clock) has to be replaced.
Please add a comment with the range model number (including the three digit prefix) if you want me to find the parts list. (You may be able to find this at SearsPartsDirect.com, unless the range is very old.)
I hope this helps.

Kenmore Electric range - clicking when plugged in
Hi Al
I was hoping to find a parts schematic for that model, but couldn't find one. I checked to see if any government recalls but there are none. I found site with a comprehensive set of spares including the $380 control board, holy moly! I thought there might be a relay, but there doesn't appear to be. Unfortunately, it seems that your control board may have failed again. If you can partially strip it and trace where the clicking is coming from, and if it is on the control panel, you could replace the clicking part, which is suspect is an onboard relay. If you phone the company below, their techs might has some ideas.
