Amana model LGA30AW automatic setting doesn't shut the dryer off

You can make adjustments to your Automatic Cycles by adjusting the Factory Dryness Level: Changing the Automatic Cycle settings to increase or decrease drying time: If all your loads on all Automatic Cycles are consistently less dry or more dry than you would like, you may change the default settings to increase or decrease the default dryness level. Your automatic drying settings can be adjusted to adapt to different installations, environmental conditions, or personal preference. This change is retained and will affect all of your Automatic Cycles, not just the current cycle/load. There are 5 drying settings, which are displayed using the time display: 0 Much wetter clothes, 30% less drying time. 1 Slightly wetter clothes, 15% less drying time. 2 Factory preset dryness level. 3 Slightly drier clothes, 15% more drying time. 4 Much drier clothes, 30% more drying time. TO CHANGE THE DRYING SETTINGS: NOTE: The settings cannot be changed while the dryer is running or paused. The dryer must be in standby mode (power is off) to adjust the default settings.
  1. Before starting a cycle, touch and hold DRYNESS for 6 seconds.
  2. Touch DRYNESS to select the dryness level shown in the time display: 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4.
  3. Touch START/PAUSE to save the new dryness level setting.

No heat gas log furance

if it has a pilot light, then it would not have an ignitor. also if it has a pilot light, it should have a knob that has settings for just the pilot light, just off, or on. Find that knob and check settings

It wont heat

never heard of having a pilot light as well an ignitor, the two don't go together. If your have a pilot light that is on the unit is getting gas. If there is pilot light there is usually a knob to switch between pilot light, off, and active on. maybe set to pilot light only.

Dryer tumbler for a short time then shuts off, will not run a full cycle like it stuck

see this causes and fix it. God bless youTimer The timer could be the problem. To check this, turn the timer to a timed cycle say 30 minutes or so then time it. If in 30 minutes the timer hasn't moved and the dryer is still on, the timer is bad and needs replacing. If in 30 minutes the dryer is off, the heating element is your problem Heating Element This is the most likely cause for some dryers timer not advancing. Some dryers have two heating elements and if one goes out the timer will not advance if you use it on an automatic cycle but you will still feel heat inside the tub. Replace the Heating Element.

I have an Amana Designer

Motor runs, but main burner will not ignite
1.heat switch set wrong---correct switch setting
2.defective timer or timer circuit---check timer wiring--replace timer motor or switch as needed
3.defective centrifugal switch in motor---clean switch or replace as needed
4.gas supply valve closed----open gas valve
5.inoperative solenoid coil---test coil for open circuit & the voltage to it
???
Pilot burner goes out
1.insufficient gas supply---- low gas pressure or clogged pilot filter or partially closed gas valve
2.carbon deposit on thermocouple tube---clean tube & check pilot burner for proper combustion
3.improperly adjusted pilot flame--adjust pilot flame until faint yellow tip begins to appear
4.faulty ignition or reset valve or thermocouple---replace

Model ALG331RAW, Amana gas dryer,

The problem is with the timer especially when it is stuck on the same spot and the dryer continues to run if not turned off manually. Disconnect power supply to unit then remove the screws securing the control hood assembly to the control hood rear panel.
jahn27_640.jpg

Rotate hood assembly forward to access the timer.

Check the timer wiring for loose connections; label them to avoid messing them up upon reconnection. Replace the timer if no obvious issue is found with the wiring connections.

Remove timer knob by pulling it outward and away from the front of the graphic panel. Remove the screw securing the timer to the control hood mounting plate. 6. Raise metal tab and rotate the timer to remove it from the slotted location. Reverse procedure to reassemble or install new timer.

Please accept the solution should you find it helpful and/or informative. You don't have to rate it in order to post comments or additional information. You can still communicate with the expert without rating should you need further advice regarding the issue stated herein.

My kenmore dryer drys clothes

Hello,

A leading cause of over heating in a dryer is a blocked vent from the back of dryer to wherever the vent exits the house,if you run the dryer and their is a good volume of air flow at the back of the dryer where vent connects to THE VENT CAN TOTALLY BE ELIMINATED AS A PROBLEM, but istead dependiging on if your model is computer controlled or has a timer and no digital display.
If computer controlled the problem is the THERMISTOR (electronic thermostat) is the problem
If analog controls the CYCLING THERMOSTAT needs to be replaced
if poor air flow from back of dryer need to check lint filter/blower housing for blockage

Good luck
I hope this helps, if it does please give me a 4 thumbs up rating
