Will not turn on

Assuming you've checked the circuit breaker, the most common problem is the door switch or related hardware to the door switch. The second most common cause is the thermal fuse. Neither are very difficult to repair and both are relatively cheap to buy. It's also remotely possible that the start switch (on the control panel) is bad, but not likely.

Takes 4 ever to dry clothes. Will run & run

If your dryer seems to run forever, it could be because of a clogged vent or internal ductwork. Your dryer may have an automatic cycle that turns off the dryer when the clothes are dry. It does this with a special thermostat or moisture-sensing system.Normally, this is what happens during an automatic cycle: The thermostat tells the dryer to heat until the interior of the dryer reaches a pre-set temperature--say 135 degrees. When the dryer reaches the pre-set temperature, the thermostat tells the timer to begin advancing. (If there's a moisture sensor, the timer advances only if the moisture content of the clothing is low enough.) The timer advances until the interior cools, then the thermostat tells the timer to stop advancing, and tells the dryer to start heating again. This cycle continues until the clothes are dry. But...if the vent is clogged, the dryer may never reach the proper operating temperature, so it doesn't send the signal to the timer and the dryer continues to run indefinitely, even if the clothes are completely dry. To fix the problem, clean the vent and/or internal ductwork.

From the rear of the dryer the back of the belt has to be on the right side of the idler pulley, then around the motor pulley. If the back of the belt is against the left side of the pulley looking from the rear the belt will be too long, not enough tension.

When run the dryer, the machine drum is

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE STARTING ANY REPAIRS
Your problem sounds like drum rollers have flat spots on them or in need of lubrication, or maybe your drum belt has slipped off of the idler arm pulley.

Note: This method works with most front loading machines.

Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer.
Note: Some tops hinge and tilt backwards so they do not have to be removed and the electrical console with stay with the lid.
Also remove the lint filter and the screws holding the lint filter housing in place.
Be REAL CAREFUL not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch. Then remove the top of the dryer.
Remove the front of the dryer. This will expose the drum and belt. Remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm pulley and motor.
Now is a good time to check the belt to see if it has slipped off of the idler arm pulley and also to check the belt condition for wear.
Be sure to note the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt.
Check your drum rollers for flat spots or wear, if they have flat spots or wear on them replace them.
If the drum rollers don't have flat spots or wear on them then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem.

Discolored terminal on cord

Check the dryer power cord for any signs of melting or charring. It could just be a loose connection. Then.....

Check the wall plug - there's a possibility the wall socket is either worn or the wiring to the socket isn't tight. The socket will need to be removed to check this, so make sure the power is off first.

Amana electric dryer won't heat up

It can really only be two things. The element or wiring to it has failed or The Thermal fuse has been overheated and cut off power. Both can be checked with a Digital Multimeter. If your Amana dryer is not heating, it likely has either a defective heating element, thermal fuse, high-limit thermostat, or cycling thermostat. If you have a gas dryer, it is likely not heating because of a defective gas valve solenoid. Feb 2, 2022

Amana dryer model ngd7200tw smells like gas when it runs and it's not heating up

That is dangerous. Call for service, the law says only registered gas technicians can work on gas appliances. Turn the gas off at the rear. There is enough gas in a dryer leak to blow your windows out on that floor. The igniter or thermocouple is faulty.
